L.I. Mom Paid 'Hit Man' to kill Hubby, Gets Bond Lowered

The parents of the Long island woman accused of trying to hire a hit man to kill her estranged husband are set to use their home as collateral for her bail after an appeals court lowered the amount to be paid.

Susan Williams was being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond after she paid an undercover cop $500 to have her estranged husband killed.

The mother of four was video tapped paying a $500 down payment to what she thought was a hit man, but was actually an under cover cop.

As she was paying the “hit man,’ Williams wondered aloud “what expression” she should wear when the police came to her door to inform her of her husband’s death and if she should attend his funeral.

Nassau County Assistant DA Jane Zwirn-Turkin said "Lengthy discussions show that Susan Williams had thought this out.”

Prosecutors also said Williams conducted Internet searches on at least two women who had escaped police after killing their ex-husbands.

Williams' defense attorney, John Carman says his client may have "day dreamed about hurting her husband that she took too far, but she never would have gone through with it."

Williams has pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and criminal solicitation charges.
If convicted, Williams could spend up to 25 years in prison.
