The NYPD and the Drug Enforcement Agency joined forces to bust-up a heroin trafficking ring operating out of a Bronx apartment Thursday. Four men have been arrested after police and DEA agents raided their Sterling Avenue apartment, seizing seven kilos of heroin, packaged into 50,000 for-sale units worth approximately $1 million.

Agents say Luis Lara, 28, is believed to be the organization's ringleader. He was arrested as he was getting into a livery cab with two people. Jose Polo, 28, was arrested after police caught with a backpack that contained approximately 3,000 packets of heroin.

The suspects will be arraigned some time Friday afternoon on charges of first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. They face a maximum of 20 years in prison if convicted.
