Jersey Politicians Turned New York Politicians

Daily News writer, Michael Daly talks about former New Jersey politicians turned New York politicians who have made his "New York officials who have been arrested, convicted or investigated for corruption" list and it reads like a "Who's Who" of New York's political arena.

Many of these lawbreakers...I mean makers...made the pilgrimage from across the Hudson after they were ousted from Jersey to set up shop in Nueva York and break laws. Talk about blatant arrogance.

Everyone from councilman Larry Seabrook (D-Bronx) to Governor Paterson and former assemblyman Brian McLaughlin are mentioned in Daly's article. I didn't think anyone would dare speak out on crooks donning suit and ties, but Daly does...and he takes no prisoners (no pun intended) as he airs the dastardly deeds of each.

For those of you wondering what became of McLaughlin, who bilked $95,000 from the Eastchester Little League and then $2 million from us taxpayers, he was convicted and sent to a federal penitentiary for 10 years.

Politicians under investigation a this time include Gregory Meeks (D-Queen), Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada (D-Bronx), Assemblywoman Carmen Arroyo (D-Bronx) and Assemblyman Peter Rivera (D-Bronx) to name a few.

I can't wait to see if Daly does a piece on crooked prosecutors who hide exculpatory evidence, flat out lie and sometimes turn a blind eye to wrong doing in order to pin crimes on innocent people or stack the deck against someone they just don't care for.

I'm not much of a betting woman, but I'd bet a dollar that piece would generate at least 12K hits a day.

In times past, we could gaze across the Hudson River and give thanks that it separated us from the cesspool of corruption known as the State of New Jersey. Lately, the bridges and tunnels span two realms that no longer seem so different. Every day seems.....
