Sixteen law enforcement agencies converged on Tampa Bay for a child porn raid that began February 8 and ended Tuesday with the arrests of 20 people, including a military police officer stationed at MacDill Air Force Base, a U.S. Coast Guardsman and a registered sex offender.
Agents also rescued two girls who claimed they were being sexually abused by their captors.
Michael Masto, a special agent with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency said those arrested during the sweep included "the worst of the worst" of child pornography offenders. Agents also seized thousands of images of child pornography.
