Two Somerville and Bridgewater men were arrested Monday on possession of marijuana charges after surveillance in Bridgewater by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force led to the discovery of approximately four ounces of marijuana from the trunk of a white Nissan.
Acting on a tip, task force members set up surveillance and spotted a White Nissan on Promenade Boulevard being driven by 23-year-old Andrew Buckmire of Bridgewater.
As officers approached the vehicle, they observed a small plastic bag of marijuana in plain view inside of the vehicle, asked Buckmire and Kyle Corbin, 24, of Somerville to step out of the vehicle and advised both occupants of the narcotics investigation.
Upon receipt of permission from Buckmire to search the rest of the vehicle, Task Force members seized marijuana from the trunk and placed both men under arrest. The estimated street value of the marijuana seized is approximately $1,600.
Buckmire was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Corbin was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana.
Both men were booked and later released on their own recognizance.
