Police Chase in Harlem Injures Five Pedestrians

A car fleeing New York City Police caused the entire intersection of Lenox Avenue and West 122nd Street to be cordoned off and shut down after a robbery suspect attempted to flee police during an investigation.

The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday when two robbery suspects fled from police. One was caught and the other managed to flee the scene which led to a brief chase with police. Several witnesses told 1010wins they saw police cars speeding up Lenox Avenue in pursuit of a minivan that lost control, slamming into several pedestrians before being hit by a sanitation truck.

1010wins reported that five people were injured, two critically, after being hit by the speeding minivan. Police continue to investigate and we will bring you further details as they become available.
