Poet's Corner: "Ghetto Calligraphy"

Words, like art,
Defying natural and
Unnatural laws
Plastered on walls,
Hanging on bridges
And overpasses;
Looking down upon
Us from clock towers.
This blatant disrespect
For the sanctity
Of property is the
Purest form of art:
Done not for money, not
Watered down by morals,
But performed out of love
For oneself and the clan;
An imprint to the world
"I was here!"
This is ghetto calligraphy --
This is graffiti.
