Downtown Hoboken was the scene of an early morning hair-pulling, smack down between several women, whom police arrested and charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

Officers on routine patrol Friday morning happened upon a "“melee of females attacking each other,” a police report read and tried to "release the hands of numerous females from others’ hair."

The dust-up occurred at 84 Washington Street around 1:45 a.m. and arrests began almost immediately beginning with Rosa Lowe of Jersey City. Police say Lowe, 23, approached officers "screaming and flailing her arms and hands. She was quickly taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, NJ.com reported.

Within minutes other officers arrived at the scene and began to disperse the crowd of angry women. In all seven women were arrested including Sally Gerges, 23, of Secaucus, and Flor Guzman, 26, of Hoboken, who had to be restrained from fighting.

Later, at police headquarters, Guzman told police that she was attacked by Dayanna Arce 22, also of Jersey City. Guzman stated that she was scratched on her right arm and neck, which left redness on her left cheek. She further stated that she suffered an abrasion to her right knee after she fell to the ground, The Jersey Journal reported.

Initially, Arce and Gladys Delgado, 23, also of Jersey City were thought to be victims, but their subsequent involvement in fights landed them behind bars as well. While jailed for her participation in the ruckus, Acre identified two who came to the police station to file a complaint on behalf of a friend, as assailants who attacked her.

Both Karen Detres and Melissa Camacho, both 25 and of Hoboken, were then arrested and charged with simple assault. In all, seven women were arrested and charged. All victims and suspects refused medical treatment at the scene.
