Tropical Storm Earl Churning in Atlantic

Tropical Storm 7's winds increased Thursday morning enough so to be named the season's fourth named storm, Earl.

Earl's winds were churning at a modest 45 mph Thursday morning. The Hurricane Center has forecast that Earl could become a hurricane by early Saturday, packing winds of 74 mph. If so, Earl would become the third named hurricane of the 2010 season.

Hurricane Danielle, which is currently a Category 2 system with winds of 105 mph, is expected to intensify and could become a major Category 3 hurricane later Thursday or early Friday.

Danielle is currently 770 miles southeast of Bermuda, and the hurricane center's forecast shows her passing 250 miles east of the British territory this weekend. At this time, Danielle's proposed path does not pose any threat to the United States.

Earl is expected to follow a path similar to Danielle's, albeit more to the west, which could bring it close to Bermuda. CNN meteorologist Brandon Miller said it was still to early to rule out possible landfall in the United States or the Caribbean.
