NEWS FROM THE SBA!! GROWING BUSINESSES IN THE USA!

SBA News Digest:

More Evidence of Recovery Act Loan Effectiveness:
SBA Administrator Karen Mills visited Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center, a small business in Northeastern, PA that is growing and creating jobs with the help of the SBA and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.  In 2010, Dr. Nichole Danova, took advantage of the waived fees and increased guarantee in SBA’s Recovery Act programs and opened the only-state of the art veterinary hospital facility on the Scranton side of the Wyoming Valley. The center now employs 54 residents from the community and has served over 12,000 patients. Strong and Growing-For Manufacturers in Michigan, Business Is Good:
Alternative Engineering, a thriving manufacturer in Grand Rapids, MI, is benefitting from two SBA loans.  The SBA loans enabled owner Robert Rodriguez to purchase a new facility, grow his business and create jobs as part of the auto industry supply chain.  SBA’s Deputy Administrator Marie Johns visited the conveyor system manufacturer and underscored the Obama Administration’s efforts to help manufacturers and small businesses like Alternative Engineering get the resources they need to supply big companies and create an economy built to last. Connecting Undeserved Populations To The Tools They Need To Be Successful:
Over the last three years, SBA has successfully helped to get capital flowing to more small business owners. Our goal, as the economy recovers, is to address gaps in the marketplace and arm small business owners - often in underserved communities - with the tools they need to thrive. In partnership with the White House Office of Public Engagement and the Center for American Progress, Ana Harvey, SBA’s Associate Administrator for Women’s Business Ownership, promoted SBA’s efforts to provide access and opportunity to Hispanic small business owners by streamlining and simplifying our programs.
