Today for alot of States it is the deadline to register to vote. Voting is so much more deeper then just getting who you want to be in office. Yes that is important but there is a history behind it that should be respected.
I think about our grandparents and our great grandparents and everyone else that could not vote. It truly irritates me when I hear someone, young or old say that they won't vote. Really people. You see the things they had to go through is why we have these rights now. No things still are not perfect, but I believe it is total disrespect for us not to honor them and use the rights we have.
Take a moment a think of the things they had to endure. Taking test that they could not pass, the Grandfather Clause; which said if your grandfather was able to vote in 1860 then you can vote. Well back then no African American was able to vote. There was beatings, burning, and hangings, and many move brutal acts of violence against us. So yes it bothers me when I hear someone saying they are not registered and they are not voting. Really it should bother you too.
So today I ask everyone to get one other person to register. Do it for them. Just get it done. Well until next time...PEACE!!!
