"Flat Tops and Flows" is the stereotypical introductory journey every artist has to take. It has the sole purpose of introducing the world to Kaj Kadence (twitter: @KajKadence). That is where the stereotypes stop.

The mixtape showcases a very versatile and well crafted work of art uncommonly found in most underground/local/unsigned hip hop artist. The tape offers sample heavy cuts (Power Steering and MTMF), smooth southern bass (C'est La Vie) and even socially conscious tracks (The Survey).

Kaj Kadence displays the perfect influence of his Brooklyn, NY, and Fayetteville, NC, roots. You will not get complacent and can always look forward to being surprised at the development and journey this young "rhyme spitter" will take them on.

"Flat Tops and Flows" showcases production from his in house producer and fellow MainstreamRejeX member Nick Newz. The mixtape also has production from various Twitter associates who have become fans of his music as well as free instrumentals from fellow unsigned artist found on YouTube.

From beginning to end, "Flat Tops and Flows" gives any listener two things: a nostalgic journey of Golden Years not seen in Hip Hop as of late and also a light of hope for the new generation.

Kaj Kadence hits you with an even, ongoing flurry of combos like Sugar Ray Leonard while bringing  the intellect of Rakim and the flashiness of Jay Z, without mimicking either one. This artist definitely lives of up to the moniker "Kaj Kadence" (Kaj, as in short for "cashmere". Kadence, as in "balanced, rhythmic flow".)
