Golf great and serial philander Tiger Woods has been romancing Olympic gold-medal skier Lindsey Vonn, Star magazine reports.It’s the first serious romance for Woods since his 2010 split from Elin Nordegren, whom the blond Vonn resembles.“He wants to marry again and thinks Lindsey could be the woman,” the mag said. The pair has reportedly been dating since November.
Over the last few months we’ve seen many sides of Tiger Woods as he’s gone from untouchable pro golfer to weekly tabloid fodder. Now, thanks to Vanity Fair, to the world is seeing another side of Tiger: shirtless.
In a photo spread that was shot before the scandal broke, photographer Annie Leibovitz said she tried to capture Woods as the “intensely competitive athlete” he is for the magazine’s February issue.
“I wanted to reveal that in these photos. And to show his incredible focus and dedication,” Leibovitz said.
Unfortunately, those pictures - including the cover shot of a bare-chested, stoic Tiger lifting weights - will have to speak more than 1,000 words, because Tiger himself isn’t talking.
“Friday Night Lights” author Buzz Bissinger recounts the golfer’s fall from grace by taking a closer look at the man behind the endorsements.
Woods, Bissinger writes, is “the age-old clash of image versus reality. He deluded himself into thinking he could be something that he wasn’t: untouchable. The greatest feat of his career is that he managed to get away with it for so long in public, the bionic man instead of the human one who hit a fire hydrant.”
The full essay with Leibovitz’s photos will be on newsstands nationwide next Tuesday.
They're the loyal friends who kept Tiger's secrets, warned him to be more careful - and stood by him even after his reckless behavior was exposed.
For more than a decade, the golfer's social life has revolved around a handful of college chums, a childhood confidant, a fiercely protective agent and a smattering of sports figures.
Few had access to the inner sanctum. Those who did knew better than to gossip about Tiger Woods' less-exclusive club of sexy women.
Some of the buddies who knew about Woods' cheating told him he was flirting with disaster - but he didn't listen until it was too late.
"A lot of us who love him saw this coming," a friend who's known Tiger since he was 18 told the Daily News.

"We said, 'You've got to be careful. It's really getting too raggedy.' In his own mind, he may not have thought he was doing anything wrong," the friend said.
"He was under a lot of pressure. He thought he was just letting off steam. He thought of it as a perk."
Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, reportedly knew nothing about his infidelities and was stunned by the breadth of his betrayal.
Still, the parade of busty blonds who emerged after a post-Thanksgiving car crash sparked questions about Woods' marriage that couldn't have been a surprise to his closest male pals.
High-school pal Bryon Bell, president of Tiger Woods Design, probably knew the most, reportedly helping with logistics for more than one affair, multiple sources said.
"He would coordinate my flight itineraries and make sure I was all set up to see Tiger," admitted mistress Jamie Jungers, 26, told The News. "He was a very nice guy."
Another source said Bell contacted Hollywood madam Michelle Braun to set up "introductions" between Tiger and her "models."
"He was definitely the middleman for Tiger," the source close to Braun said.
The roster of Tiger's celebrity friends includes retired basketball legends Michael Jordan and Charles Barkley - who was around when Jungers partied with Tiger, she claimed.
His nonfamous friends "are a bunch of nice guys, but their behavior has been a little sophomoric," said an insider who spoke on condition of anonymity.
He said that aside from Bell, Woods' closest friends are former Stanford teammate Jerry Chang and post-college pal D.J. Hanlon.
Chang roomed with Woods during competition travel in the mid-'90s and worked for Tiger's foundation before pursuing an MBA.
Notoriously media-shy, Chang did not returns calls.
"Tiger will always just be one of the guys to me," Chang told a newspaper in 1998. "He has a different life than most of us, that's for sure. But he's not bigger than life."
Woods spoke glowingly of Chang's "serious" demeanor when he chose him as a pro-am tournament partner in 2000.
"He won't get in the way. He won't be chit-chatting or talking," Woods said.
Hanlon is rarely mentioned in connection with Tiger, but they met in the late '90s when Hanlon's dad was president of the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, a source said.
"It was through Butch Harmon, Tiger's coach," the source said, explaining Hanlon was working for his dad when Harmon opened a golf school at the Rio. Hanlon did not return calls.
As the scandal explodes, all three friends have maintained the code of silence that has long characterized their relationship with Tiger.
One Stanford-connected friend said that speaking out, even in the golfer's defense, would be friendship suicide.
"Jerry and all of us are dealing with the same thing," the friend said. "This is Tiger's thing. We can't comment."

OCOEE, Fla. – Tiger Woods' mother-in-law was admitted to a hospital with stomach pains early Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said.
Someone called 911 from the golfer's Orlando-area mansion about 2:35 a.m.
Barbro Holmberg was taken by ambulance to Health Central Hospital, where she was in stable condition later Tuesday, hospital spokesman Dan Yates said. He said her condition was not serious but he could not be more specific because of privacy laws.
Holmberg, who arrived in the U.S. a few days ago, lives in Sweden and is the mother of Woods' wife, Elin.
Health Central is the same hospital where Woods was treated after he crashed his sport utility vehicle outside his home last month.
Yates said Holmberg was in a private room and the family has hired additional security to keep the media away. He said family members have visited her, but he would say who.
"She's in a wing that helps protect her privacy," Yates said.
Media attention has been focused on the world's No. 1 golfer since he hit a hydrant and a tree around 2:25 a.m. on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
The Florida Highway Patrol last week cited Woods for careless driving and fined him $164.
The accident — and Woods' refusal to answer questions about it — fueled speculation about a possible dispute between him and Elin.
Just days before the crash, a National Enquirer story alleged Woods had been seeing a New York nightclub hostess, Rachel Uchitel, who has denied it. After the crash, Us Weekly reported that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress named Jaimee Grubbs claims she had a 31-month affair with Woods.
Last week, Woods issued a statement saying he had let his family down with unspecified "transgressions" that he regrets with "all of my heart." He did not elaborate.
A police report on the crash released Monday showed that a Florida trooper who suspected Woods was driving under the influence sought a subpoena for the golfer's blood results from the hospital he was taken to after the crash, but prosecutors rejected the petition for insufficient information.
A witness, who wasn't identified in the report, told trooper Joshua Evans that Woods had been drinking alcohol earlier. The same witness also said Woods had been prescribed two drugs, Ambien and Vicodin.
The report did not say who the witness was but added it was the same person who pulled Woods from the vehicle after the accident. Woods' wife, Elin, has told police that she used a golf club to smash the back windows of the Cadillac Escalade to help her husband out. His injuries were minor.
The sister of a neighbor who called 911 after the crash told troopers that Holmberg and Woods' mother, were also at the scene, but the AP has not been able to confirm that.
Eva Malmborg, a spokeswoman for Holmberg, said she could not comment on Tuesday's reports.
Malmborg confirmed Holmberg had taken a week's leave from her job as Gavleborg county governor in central-east Sweden, but said she did not know where Holmberg had gone.
There was no sign of emergency workers later Tuesday morning at the Woods' gated community, where luxury SUVs and cars drove in and out as a few reporters and television news trucks milled around outside.

Emergency crews responded to the home of embattled golfer Tiger Woods after a 911 call early this morning, ABC's Orlando affiliate WFTV reported.

Orange County Fire Rescue was dispatched to Deacon Circle shortly after 2:36 a.m. and transported a patient to the hospital, fire rescue spokeswoman Genevieve Latham told ABCNews.com.
Latham said she said could not comment the nature of the call other than to say it was a "medical call."
She did not confirm where the call originated but WFTV reported that the call came from Woods' home.
WFTV also reported seeing a woman being removed from the ambulance on a gurney after arriving at the Health Central Hospital in Ocoee. The ambulance was followed by a black Cadillac Escalade, similar to the car Woods was driving when he crashed into a tree nearly two weeks ago, setting of a firestorm of tabloid reports about domestic strife and his many apparent mistresses.
Witnesses told WFTV that the Escalade was driven by an attractive blonde who bore similarities to Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, and the car's license plate was one number off from the plate on the car Woods was driving the night of the crash.
Nordegren's mother and twin sister were rumored to have been spending time at the home.
Latham said there was no record of police being on scene after this morning's emergency call.
The activity in Woods' Deacon Circle neighborhood comes hours after reports that Nordegren may have moved out and purchased a home in Sweden.

Woods faces a $164 fine and four points against his driver's license. The citation will close the investigation.
"Despite the celebrity status of Mr. Woods, the Florida Highway Patrol has completed its investigation in the same professional manner it strives to complete each traffic investigation," Sgt. Kim Montes said.
According to a patrol accident report, Woods crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree at 2:25 a.m. Friday. The airbags did not deploy and Woods' wife told Windermere police she used a golf club to smash the back windows to help him out.
Woods withdrew Monday from his own golf tournament, citing injuries from the crash.
The crash came two days after The National Enquirer published a story alleging that Woods had been seeing a New York nightclub hostess, and that they recently were together in Melbourne, where Woods competed in the Australian Masters. The woman, Rachel Uchitel, denied having an affair with Woods when contacted by The Associated Press.
An attorney for the neighbors who dialed 911 after the crash said Woods did not appear to be driving under the influence and showed no signs of having been in a fight. The Florida Highway Patrol said there were no claims of domestic violence and no reason to issue a subpoena for medical evidence.
Woods' injuries were "consistent with a car wreck and inconsistent with him being beat up," said Bill Sharpe, the attorney for the neighbors. "The scratches on his face were consistent with someone who maybe was in a minor car accident and hit his head on the windshield. ... None of his injuries looked like he was beat up by his wife."
In its initial accident report, the Florida Highway Patrol said alcohol was not involved.
Sharpe said neighbor Linda Adams and her two adult sons went outside their home in the exclusive gated community of Isleworth after hearing the crash and Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, asked them to call the 911 emergency number.
He said the neighbors found Nordegren kneeling beside her husband, upset about his injuries. Sharpe said Woods appeared woozy and had scratches on his face and that his wife was trying to console him. The Adamses wrapped Woods in a blanket and made sure he didn't move.
Tabloid speculation has focused on whether Woods and his wife were fighting before the accident.
"One thing we want to make clear is that Mrs. Woods' attitude was consistent with her being concerned about her injured husband," Sharpe said. "Mrs. Woods was trying to help him. Mrs. Woods was worried about her husband. She was concerned."
Sharpe said the Adams family did not see the crash and did not see Woods' wife with a golf club. He said he was hired to get the message out that the Adams family members have told investigators everything they know about the crash and aren't hiding anything.
By skipping his tournament, Woods will escape the TV cameras and a horde of media seeking more details. The tournament was to be the last of the year for Woods anyway, and he did not say when or where he would make his return next year.
When healthy, he has made his season debut at Torrey Pines every year since 2006. The San Diego Invitational this year is scheduled the week of Jan. 25. That could mean Woods avoids the media for 10 weeks.

A Los Angeles cocktail waitress is claiming she and the world's top golfer carried on a torrid 31-month affair - and that she has photos and 300 "racy" text messages to prove it.
Jaimee Grubbs, who says she was 21 when she first hooked up with Woods in April 2007, told Us Weekly they had 20 sexual encounters.
Until now, Grubbs was best known as the girlfriend of Shawn "Loud Mouth Tool" Southern, one of the oafish contestants on VH1's reality series, "Tool Academy."
Whatever Grubbs, 24, has to say is likely to be bad news for Woods, whose good guy image has already taken a hit by a National Enquirer report that he was cheating on his Swedish supermodel wife with a New York party girl. Meanwhil
e, a lawyer for Woods' neighbors insisted Tuesday that the golfer's wife, Elin Nordegren, tried to help her husband after the wreck.
"She was trying to help him, she was not trying to do any further damage," said the lawyer, Bill Sharpe.
Sharpe, who represents Linda Adams and her family, said that if the couple was fighting before the crash, nobody in the Adams household saw it.
"My clients feel like somebody believes they saw something they are not telling anybody," said Sharpe.
They did not witness any domestic violence ... Mr. Woods' minor injuries are not consistent with somebody being beaten with a nine iron."
Woods' neighbors got swept up in the Tiger tempest after it was revealed the 911 call for help that alerted cops about the accident came from their home. It is believed that Linda Adams' son, Jarius, placed the call.
Sharpe said the Adams family does not want to say anything more about the Friday accident.
Woods has been stonewalling investigators about what exactly happened and has yet to directly address reports of an affair with 34-year-old Rachel Uchitel.
Uchitel has vehemently denied a romance with Woods and has hired Gloria Allred, a lawyer who specializes in representing scorned celebrity women.
The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the smashup and was expected to give an update later Tuesday.
In a statement three days after the crash, Woods 'fessed up to the "obviously embarrassing" incident adding, "The only person responsible for the accident is me."
"My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble," he wrote on his Web site.
