OK readers look for interviews with up and coming rappers out of Eastern North Carolina, Lu Diggs, Apex and the General (who is also the CEO/Producer for Battle Station Records). His CD will debut in two weeks. So be on the look out for the press release and pictures.

Battle Station Records recently signed five rappers and has two of them ready to drop their freshman CD mixtapes. I have spent several days interviewing and mingling with several of the label's artists getting to know the ins and outs of their operation, how they met and the daily makings of the label and artists.
This label has been sitting on a musical gold mine and I believe they are about to blow up, readers.

The artists and their producers, The General (Rick Jones), Tone Mack (Anthony Jones) and E Money (Eric Jones) have a collection of mixtape series and funky beats that hype their lyrics displaying a genuinely impressive form of expressive rap that many of you are going to enjoy. They have everything from club beats to songs you can kick back and relax to. Coming from humble beginnings BSR formed this label with everyone from childhood friends to new comers who all share their love for music. They have a small studio off of Lejeune Boulevard in Jacksonville, NC that comes to life every single day as their artists filter in and out preparing to drop their CD's.
On any given day, you can pull up to the doors of the studio and find them barbecuing, laughing and joking all while they pass lyrics off of their producers and fellow artists. They truly resemble a family who share many bonds, but music being their tightest. They range in age from 31 to as young as 17 and they're rising stars.
