Last night a man police say is responsible for the July 25th shooting death of former boxing champ, Vernon Forrest turned himself into police in Atlanta.

Demario Ware, 20, turned himself in to police on Tuesday and is being held in the Fulton County jail on charges of murder, armed robbery and aggravated assault.
Forrest, 38, was shot in a neighborhood southwest of downtown Atlanta near a gas station. Police say Forrest was robbed which led to a confrontation in which he was shot several times. The former boxing champ died of multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and thigh, the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office said.
Information that led police to Ware has not been made available at press time and "the case is still under investigation," said Officer J. Polite Jr., Atlanta police spokesman.
Forrest's longtime friend and manager, Charles Watson, said that Forrest and his godson stopped for gas in Southwest Atlanta after leaving a gym. Forrest was pumping gas when he was approached by a man asking for money. The man, allegedly Wares, then snatched the former boxing champ's wallet from his hand.
At press time it was not known whether Ware had secured an attorney or if a bond had been set.
