Antoniette Davis: Pregnant and Being Housed in Special Unit of County Jail

This afternoon, theblackurbantimes confirmed a report that Antoniette Davis, mother of Shaniya Davis, is indeed pregnant again.

Debbie Tanner, the public information officer at the Cumberland County Detention center confirmed for me that they learned of Davis' pregnancy upon her admission to the jail.

For this and another reason, Davis is being housed in the Special Management Unit of the county jail.

"Miss Davis is being held in this particular unit for two reasons," said Tanner. "Of course her pregnancy is one, and the other is that it is standard protocol to place an inmate in that unit when they have been accused of committing a heinous crime. We place them on suicide watch --- not that Miss Davis has threatened or attempted to commit suicide --- it is our goal to ensure that they do not attempt suicide.

There is no word on how far long Davis may be into her pregnancy or when her next court date is scheduled.

She is being held under $50,000.00 bond for the Human Trafficking, Child Abuse, Prostitution charge and $1,000.00 for the Filing a False Report charge.
