Residents in Cape May County Still in the Dark After Nor'easter Slams Shore

Thousands of New Jerseyans remain without electricity along the Jersey shore after snow and strong winds from a nor'easter knocked out power prompting officials to open shelters in Cape May county.

Utility companies from other areas have arrived to pitch in and Gov. Christie has deployed state road crews to clear roads so electrical workers can reach areas that need power restored.

ACE says about 59,000 customers, mostly in Cape May County, were without power as of 8 a.m. this morning.

Company spokeswoman Bridget Shelton says they hope to have power restored to most customers by sometime today.
