Police have arrested 44-year-old Amalia Mirasola, of Butler Saturday morning in connection with the death of her husband, Carl Mirasola, 43 Captain Jeffrey Paul, spokesperson for Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi, told Newjersey.com.

Mirasola attorney, Robert Stack, who has been representing Mirasola during her divorce said his client, who is bound to a wheelchair, has no memory of the shooting, but discovered her registered handgun inside her wheelchair and her husband locked inside a bedroom.

Stack said the incident stemmed from a confrontation Friday night at the Mirasola's Roosevelt Avenue home after Mr. Mirasola learned his wife of 19 years, who has been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 2004, was planning to file for divorce. The couple have three children, a 13-year-old daughter and 7-year-old twins, who are now in police custody.
