A West New York man was struck by a car Friday morning as he walked along Bergenline Avenue, The Jersey Journal reported.

The 33-year-old man said the mirror on the Toyota Camry struck him as the driver was making a left turn onto Bergenline Avenue a little after 6:30 a.m. The man, a resident of 64th street and Bergenline Avenue, complained of back pain and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The driver, an unidentified 53-year-old man of 63rd Street and Bergenline Avenue, could not prove his vehicle was insured and did not have a driver's license. Police cited him and had his vehicle towed. He told officers he was blinded by sunlight.
