I would say that over the course of my early twenties and pretty much up until now I have not been the most health conscious person in the world. Actually, its safe to say my eating and exercise habits were pretty awful. I would eat things that would throw the average human body into cardiac shock. Two triple cheese burgers from Wendy's or the "W" as my friends and I would call it back in the day, 50 piece hot wings in one sitting, and gallons upon gallons of Soda. I was and absolute mess my self esteem was down as my weight would yo yo back an forth as I figured out I was an emotional eater. Until I met Adrian Russell, who to me by far is the best and most underrated Boxer I have ever seen in my life.
I called Adrian one day as I was on another one of my lose weight quick schemes, and told him I was going to join a flag football league. HE says "No,Dog come to this gym I'm working out of I'm working with this trainer and he is amazing." Now, I trust Adrian but boxing wasn't really my thing but I trusted Adrian so I said I would come check out the gym.
When I arrive I get out of my car and look at the gym and I immediately notice the immaculate setup, Suitable for a world class boxer. I get in and Adrian Introduces me to the trainer "this is Biggs, Xavier Biggs" we shake hands and prepare for our work out I fall in line with the rest of the crowd and 45 minutes later Ive had the best workout of my life. It was challenging mentally and physically and i could feel muscles in my body being used that I haven't used in a while.
After I picked myself off the floor I talked with Biggs for about 20 minutes or so and I find out that his brother was a professional boxer and he has met all the greats and hung with celebs. As he talked i felt more Like wisdom was being released than just a a casual convo about boxing. When its all said and done www.decaturboxing.com is one of one of the best gyms I've ever been in. Xavier Biggs is one of the best trainers I've seen, and I've been through a lot of them. check out the site Ill have an interview soon, and I will be giving incite on the amazing book he wrote. over the next couple of months i will be giving you guys an updated report as www.decaturboxing.com and Xavier "biggs" help me drop this weight and drag me to a healthier life.

Boxing loses its third fighter in 30 days Saturday night when former champ Vernon Forrest was killed in an attempted carjacking in Atlanta. Forrest, was putting air in his tire in northwest Atlanta. The lost of Forrest hurts, but its seems that people are targeting boxers. The boxing commissions need to band together and start protecting their athletes because we can see that them protecting themselves isn't working.

Current welterweight champion Sugar Shane Mosley has called out Manny Pacquaio for a superfight. In a way it makes sense. Pacman is looking for his next challenge and what a better one than Shane. Shane's beaten all the top guys and Pacquaio needs a challenge. This could be interesting for all of boxing if they turn it the right way. Lets hope they do.

ESPN has just released that Floyd Mayweather Jr has agreed to return to the ring July 18 to fight Juan Manuel Marquez. Not much has been said about it. There will be a 11 a.m. press conference will be held tommorow morning to announce the fight. Floyd has taken a good tune up fight. It hasn't been said as to whether the fight will be fought at 140 or 147 pounds. It will more than likely be fought at 147. The real prize will be whoever wins the upcoming Ricky Hatton vs Manny Pacquiao fight. The winner will have a date with the winner of Mayweather or Marquez. That fight will probably be in December. Pretty Boy, go get your throne back.

Pardon seeked for ex boxing champ

Pardon sought for the first black boxing champion
BY: Jarred Powell
Rep. Peter King and Sen. John McCain unveiled a resolution urging a presidential pardon for former heavyweight boxing champ Jack Johnson, who was convicted in 1913 of violating the Mann Act, which made it illegal to transport women across state lines for immoral purposes. The law has since been heavily amended, but has not been repealed. "We need to erase this act of racism which sent an American citizen to prison on a trumped-up charge," McCain said, adding, "I have great confidence this president will be more than eager to sign this legislation and pardon Jack Johnson." Jack Johnson was jailed simply because he had relations and eventually married a white woman. That's the only way they could have taken his title cause he was knocking everyone else out. This pardon is way overdue. It was a racially motivated law that was meant to condemn black that had relationships with white women. Especially Johnson, who was one of the first celebrity athletes of our era.

Is the Pretty Boy set to return to the ring?

Rumors are flying about Floyd Mayweather Jr return to boxing
By:Jarred Powell
In the past couple weeks, talks have increased about the return of Floyd Mayweather Jr. returning to fight. Mayweather retired after his 10th round knockout of Ricky Hatton on Dec. 8, 2007. In fairness to the Pretty Boy, he left on his own terms. he said he had made enough money and he didn't want to fight anymore. In retirement, he appeared in Wrestlemania, where he fought the Big Show. He made 3 million alone for that appearance. Floyd, why come back now. You could have fought Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, or Paul Williams. You ran because there weren't any big times fights in the division. You could have fought Antonio Margarito, Paul Williams, Miguel Cotto or Sugar Shane Mosley. The latter two could have been lucrative for you. In truth boxing has been missing a hero. Someone we all like to see fight love him or hate him. Manny Pacquiao was crowned the pound for pound champion by default. Mayweather vs Pacquiao would be a megafight. Something that boxing has been missing. For this to happen, Mayweather should come back and fight a tune up fight against a lesser opponent and Pacquiao has to beat Ricky Hatton. Then we can set our sights for Mayweather/Pacquiao.
