Greyhound Bus Crashes on Pa., Turnpike After Leaving New York City

NY POST--A Greyhound bus bound for St. Louis from New York City flipped on its side on the Pennsylvania Turnpike early today, briefly trapping a woman and injuring about two dozen people, authorities said.
Twenty to 25 injuries were reported, turnpike spokesman Carl DeFebo said, and rescue crews freed the woman who was trapped in the wreckage in a rural area about a mile east of the Lebanon-Lancaster exit. State police were investigating what caused the crash.
The westbound bus had stopped in Philadelphia and was headed for a stop in Columbus, Ohio, when it overturned about 6 a.m. Twenty-nine people, including the driver, were aboard, said Greyhound spokesman Maureen Richmond. Read more

The North Carolina chapter of the NAACP plans to protest in response to the re-segregation of schools in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. The March was set for this morning at Marshall Park and involved other groups. Casey Anthony Ordered Back to Sunshine State by August 26

Anthony will surface in Florida, but where?
A Florida judge recently ruled that the decision that Casey Anthony served her probation while in jail awaiting murder charges in connection with the death of her daughter, Kaylee, was a "clerical error," and has ruled the young mother must return to the State by August 26. Web site TMZ reported that Anthony, undeniably the most hated woman in America, recently surfaced in Ohio where she has relatives.
The web site claimed Anthony was seen wearing an Ohio State University baseball cap, a tight-fitting top and glasses as she calmly shopped in stores such as Old Navy. Anthony's parents said if she does return to the State to serve her probation, she will not be welcomed in their home. The probation stems from Anthony using a friend's credit cards and going on a shopping spree.

Bloomberg makes it rain for young minority men!

Staff
Blkutimes
Micheal Bloomberg shows these people how to make it rain for real and gives $30M of his own fortune to the 'young men's initiative' that focuses on minorities . The mayor has really stepped up to the plate here and put politics and lip service aside by providing a true gift to young black men who really are in a dire situation with the high rate of unemployment. Its great to see Bloomberg show everyone how its done.

First Lady, tells supporters to sign The President's Birthday card

Here's the complete text of the letter she sent out!

Every day, I see Barack make choices he knows will affect every American family. That's no small task for anyone -- and more proof that he's earning every last one of those gray hairs. This has been a busy week in Washington, but today happens to be Barack's 50th birthday. I'm writing to you because this year, the girls and I would like to do something a little different.I'm asking friends and supporters of this campaign to wish him a happy birthday by signing his card, and sharing why you're on this journey with us.Your names and notes will become part of a book that tells the story of this campaign -- who's building it, why we're in this thing, and what he means to us. We'll deliver a copy to Barack and send one to our campaign offices across the country.
I've known Barack for more than 20 of his 50 years, and we've been through quite a lot together. It still amazes me that no matter how many decisions and distractions he's faced with every day, he's always able to focus on the bigger picture. One way he does that is by making time for stories and letters from people like you -- because he knows that this job isn't about him, but about the millions of folks around the country he's fighting for. This next year will challenge us all to work harder than ever before, but the crucial thing is that you're here now, early on, helping to build this campaign.I know that, like Barack and me, you have your own reasons why, so I hope you'll take a moment to sign the card and share your story with him and other supporters of this campaign.
Thanks for being a part of this,
Michelle

Championnewspaper.com: 13-year-old student wows Morehouse

by Kalin Thomas
As a 13-year-old, Lithonia resident Stephen Stafford II can usually be found sitting in front of the television playing video games or playing his drum set. But Stafford is no typical 13-year old – he’s a college student. The triple-major child prodigy is becoming a sensation at Morehouse College.
“I’ve never taught a student as young as Stephen, and it’s been amazing,” said computer science professor Sonya Dennis. “He’s motivating other students to do better and makes them want to step up their game.”
“When I saw how much knowledge Stephen has at such a young age, I wondered what I had been doing with my life,” laughed third-year student, Eric Crawford. A psychology major and computer science minor, Crawford wanted to step up his game so much that he got Stephen to tutor him. “Even though I’m older, Stephen is like a mentor and my elder in computer science,” said Crawford.

AFRICANSUNTIMES.COM: AVATAR: A WHITE SUPREMACIST MOVIE?

Written by Frederick Alexander Meade
- Posted Jan. 6, 2010
After having viewed the latest box office hit Avatar, themes which seemingly resonate timelessly, find their expression once again.

The story takes place on the distant planet of Pandora.  This planet is bountiful in its natural resources and in particular “Unobtainium.”  This precious mineral is highly coveted universally, as a business interest from the distant planet Earth seeks to exploit the planet in gathering this resource for its own entrepreneurial purposes.   Such an endeavor would be easily undertaken if not for the indigenous population of the planet, the Na’vi.

This group of highly intelligent, disciplined and physically gifted beings are a deeply spiritual people, who demonstrate complete deference for all forms of nature as they derive their sense of being and purpose from their deity known as Eywa, the source of all living things. READ MORE HERE
