5 reasons why Jay Z and other African-American celebrities are wrong to "Boycott Florida"
By Geek Swagg
1. A boycott should have a specific target. Florida is a very large state. The message is sent to other blacks that "we don't care about you".
2. Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West, and Stevie Wonder are rich. What do they care if Florida businesses are not filled with customers, but what about the other businesses in Florida..like in places such as Miami Gardens and other urban/african american areas.
3. Dr. King led a boycott with a true target. It wasn't a "blanket boycott" without any real teeth.
4. "Black America" should understand that in 2013 there is no "black civil rights leader". The leader is in you. In the age of the internet, everyone has the power to change the world.
5. Boycott Florida..then what!? Like seriously..you just finished rapping a song about a clothing designer named "Tom Ford"..you're not rapping about any black owned businesses. Gtfoh! Its almost insulting that I should boycott Florida and ignore the good folks making a difference.
The African-american community must truly understand that real change comes from within and not from a couple who tells us to "Bow Down" and buy "Tom Ford". Boom.

The Power Players
By: Jas
Revolt TV published “Unlocking The Holy Grail: Timbaland”
the day before the release of Jay-Z’s album "Magna
Carter Holy Grail" (Which Timbo claims is Jay-Z’s best album). In this
interview, Timbaland was asked about Jay-Z’s status in the industry. Timbaland
let the public know Jay-Z is at the top, soon him and Jay-Z will be able to say, “we can
control our records…we don’t have to talk to none of these people, we are the
people…now the money is much better because we own it.”
But Jay-Z’s status isn’t
just coming from the music industry.
So who are the power players in the music biz? Timbaland,
Pharrell, Kayne, Diddy, and Jay-Z. But lets focus on the kings…Sean Combs and
Sean Carter, Why?, Because they have empires.
Both topped the The
Forbes Five: Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artist every year since 2007, but now
there is a question of who will reach billionaire status first. These two have
built an empire within the entertainment industry as a whole. Just this year, Jay-Z went
from owning a portion of the Brookland Nets to establishing Roca Nation Sports, while Diddy is building his TV network, REVOLT TV
but still gaining most of his profit from Ciroc.
Their next move better be their best move!
Which one of these bosses do you think will be a billionaire first?

Hump Day Buzz...
Greetings Lovelies!!!
I swear these celebs make my job so easy...lol
•Stevie J and Joseline are engaged...Holy smokes Batman!!!
• Why oh why would Stevie J produce a song with Karlie and Joseline...my ears are bleeding already...That's a Tropical train wreck in the making...lol
•Beyonce loves Michelle Obama just as much as we do, in a recent video she spoke very highly of the First Lady, “I’m so in awe of Michelle Obama. Every time I see her, she inspires me, she empowers me, she encourages me to live a healthy lifestyle.”
•Katy Perry and Russell Brand are officially divorced...Whoop! There it is!! Lol
•Will Smith and daughter Willow were photographed on a recent flight. It captures a Father's love.
•Speaking of photos the president and first lady were taken while they were watching the game.
•This Summer Rihanna was dating Chris Brown, then got with Drake then those two were beefing at a NY nightclub so RiRi left that drama and got with NY Knick JR Smith last week and since then kicked him to curb and now dating Philly rapper Meek Mill. Her summer has been productive! Ha!
• Kris Humphries posted a tweet that totally mocks Kanye West ... saying, "I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ 'lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team' lol!"The tweet was an obvious reference to the diss-track Kanye released ... in which he trashed Kris and bragged that he could have his BFF Jay-Z fire Kris whenever he wanted. Kris Humphries doesn't need Kim Kardashian to make a living at all because he just signed a $24 MILLION contract with the Brooklyn Nets. It's a 2-year deal according to ESPN. I think it's safe to say he's laughing all the way to the bank!
Stay cool :-)

Video:Jay-Z’s $450 million Business Empire
By Daniel Gross
This is a superstar economy, in which A-listers live large while minor leaguers struggle. Hedge fund managers like John Paulson may rack up big returns, CEOs like Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman, Sachs bag huge compensation packages, and all-star baseball players like Alex Rodriguez ink nine-figure contracts. But few of them can match the combination of fame, public acclaim and monetary value that Shawn Corey Carter has racked up.
Who?
Amid the carnage of the music industry in the past decade, Jay-Z has managed to parlay artistic success into financial fortune valued at up to $450 million, according to Forbes. Jay-Z's many business successes (and few failures) are described in a new book by Forbes writer Zack O'Malley Greenburg, entitled Empire State of Mind: How Jay-Z Went from Street Corner to Corner Office.
In 2010 alone, he earned $63 million, more than all but seven CEOs of public companies, writes Greenburg. While the money came primarily from touring, Jay-Z has a business interests ranging from music to nightclubs, from restaurants to apparel, from sneakers to a chunk of the New Jersey Nets. As Greenburg and I discuss in the video, the Brooklyn native, who spent a chunk of his teens selling drugs before devoting himself full time to rap, has "a unique ability to set trends and profit from them, almost to an astronomical level."
Early on, Jay-Z displayed an acumen for business. In 1994, unable to find a company to produce his debut records, Jay-Z, Damon Dash and a silent partner founded their own label, Roc-A-Fella Records. And when a distributor agreed to take on the album, he negotiated a deal to retain ownership of the master recordings.

Bey and Jay Have Date Night...in the Meatpacking District
Jay-Z and Beyoncé are on a dining tour of the Meatpacking District. Having stopped by the Standard Grill earlier in the week, the hip-hop power pair popped into Abe & Arthur's Thursday night and dropped $1,100 on a bottle of Bryant Family cabernet, Kobe beef sliders and ricotta donuts. "Jay-Z doesn't eat red meat any more, so he stuck to the doughnuts," says a spy. The couple then hopped into an Escalade with a 40-inch flat screen idling outside.
