Hump Day Buzz...

Greetings Lovelies!!!

I swear these celebs make my job so easy...lol

•Stevie J and Joseline are engaged...Holy smokes Batman!!!

• Why oh why would Stevie J produce a song with Karlie and Joseline...my ears are bleeding already...That's a Tropical train wreck in the making...lol

•Beyonce loves Michelle Obama just as much as we do, in a recent video she spoke very highly of the First Lady, “I’m so in awe of Michelle Obama. Every time I see her, she inspires me, she empowers me, she encourages me to live a healthy lifestyle.”

•Katy Perry and Russell Brand are officially divorced...Whoop! There it is!! Lol

•Will Smith and daughter Willow were photographed on a recent flight. It captures a Father's love.

•Speaking of photos the president and first lady were taken while they were watching the game.

•This Summer Rihanna was dating Chris Brown, then got with Drake then those two were beefing at a NY nightclub so RiRi left that drama and got with NY Knick JR Smith last week and since then kicked him to curb and now dating Philly rapper Meek Mill. Her summer has been productive! Ha!

• Kris Humphries posted a tweet that totally mocks Kanye West ... saying, "I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ 'lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team' lol!"The tweet was an obvious reference to the diss-track Kanye released ... in which he trashed Kris and bragged that he could have his BFF Jay-Z fire Kris whenever he wanted. Kris Humphries doesn't need Kim Kardashian to make a living at all because he just signed a $24 MILLION contract with the Brooklyn Nets. It's a 2-year deal according to ESPN. I think it's safe to say he's laughing all the way to the bank!

Stay cool :-)

Michelle Obama death threat by D.C. cop under investigation

Michelle Obama death threat? A Washington D.C. motorcycle cop said he would shoot the first lady, the Washington Post reported. But some officials say it was a 'joke.'

By Staff, Associated Press / July 13, 2012

WASHINGTON

A District of Columbia police officer who worked as a motorcycle escort for the White House and other officials has been moved to administrative duty after he allegedly made threatening comments about Michelle Obama, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

The officer was overheard making the comments Wednesday as several officers from the Special Operations Division discussed threats against the Obamas, the Post said, citing unidentified police officials who were not authorized to discuss details of the case. The officer allegedly said he would shoot the first lady and then used his phone to retrieve a picture of the firearm he said he would use, according to the report in the newspaper's online edition.

Asked about the report, D.C. police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump said: "We received an allegation that inappropriate comments were made. We are currently investigating the nature of those comments."

Officials familiar with what happen say that it was a bad joke made by someone who should have known better. “Pump the brakes on this one,” a Secret Service official told NBC.

Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan told The Associated Press the agency was aware of the report and would "take appropriate follow-up steps."

Typically in the case of a threat against a member of the first family, the Secret Service interviews participants and witnesses and then makes an assessment on how to proceed.

Grading President Obama 100 Days After He Takes Office

By Amanda Ruggeri
When he launched his campaign for president, Barack Obama could not have foreseen that the signature accomplishment of his first 100 days in office would likely involve spending $787 billion on an economic stimulus package. But the effects of that piece of legislation--one heavy with both expenditures and expectations of economic recovery--may well determine Obama's success as president. Two and a half months after its passage, it's still early to evaluate the full ramifications of the Recovery and Reinvestment Act for the economy. But there are some promising signs. Paychecks are receiving bumps from the Making Work Pay tax credit, and one major pot of funds--$53.6 billion in aid to states, 82 percent of which must be used for education--started flowing when California received nearly $4 billion in mid-April. Government officials also have reported that many projects are costing them less than expected, as contractors, crunched for cash, compete fiercely for the work. Full Story

Out With The Former, In With The New

No moving trucks needed for Bushes on Inauguration Day
From Elaine QuijanoCNN
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- On Inauguration Day, there's one scene at the White House that won't be playing out exactly as it has during past transitions: the traditional moving of the outgoing first family's belongings.

President Bush walks out of the White House Oval Office on January 10.

Anita McBride, chief of staff to first lady Laura Bush, tells CNN that the Bushes have moved almost all of their belongings out of the White House ahead of schedule.
"There won't be ... the moving trucks for the Bushes coming here," McBride said, adding, "The only things really left for President and Mrs. Bush are their personal belongings and luggage that they'll take that day."
McBride said Mrs. Bush directed residence staff early -- in the summer of 2008 -- to prepare the White House for the personal transition.
"It's probably the librarian in her," McBride said of Mrs. Bush, a former librarian. "Maybe we've got a bit of a Dewey Decimal system of move-out process, but that certainly made it easier for the residence staff, and they very much appreciate it," McBride said.
The actual clearing out of the Bushes' belongings began over the summer, McBride says, when many items were packed and taken to Crawford, Texas. Then, during the Christmas holiday, the Bushes moved their personal things out of Camp David, the presidential retreat in Maryland, according to McBride.
That means on Inauguration Day, while President Bush and Mrs. Bush, along with President-elect Obama and his family, are at the Capitol, staff in the White House residence will have more time to unpack and prepare the Obamas' personal belongings.
"They have rehearsed this over the last few weeks, everyone has their marching orders, it will be all hands on deck," said McBride.
"The residence staff will be here that morning, and they know what their jobs are when the moving truck for the Obamas' move-in arrives," she said, adding, "Their things will be unpacked, and their clothes will be in their rightful place, and whatever furniture that they may have selected from the White House furniture collection will be in the place that they want it to be."

Grandaughter of Slave Never Thought She'd See A Black Man Elected

Meet 80 year-old Mary Dowden of Como, Mississippi. She is the granddaughter of slaves.

By Wayne Drash CNN.com Senior Producer
COMO, Mississippi (CNN) -- Mary Dowden smiles when she thinks about this moment in history. At 80 years old, she's the granddaughter of a slave who was born in a cotton field outside of Como, Mississippi.
It's difficult to put into words how she feels about Barack Obama, the issues so complex for a black country girl who lost both her parents by the age of 18 and then had to work a hard-scrabble life as a sharecropper.
"I was really afraid for him, because I didn't want nobody to kill him," she says when asked about casting her ballot for Obama.
But she pauses and smiles. "I'm awfully proud of him, as a black person."
Did she ever think she would see this moment?
"No, I didn't," she says. "I always thought that, you know, the white was over the black, that they was the leading folks, that one nation is gonna be over another one, and that would be the white over the black. I never thought it would be a black president."
With Obama's election, CNN.com traveled to the town of Como to talk with African-Americans about their experience growing up black in Mississippi and what this moment in history means to them.
Como is a town of 1,400 people 45 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee, along Interstate 55. It is a hard-hit rural community, home to a school with the dubious distinction of being among the worst-performing schools in the nation. In 2007, the IRS froze the town's bank accounts for not paying payroll taxes.
A railroad track cuts through the middle of town. Even to this day, blacks largely live on one side of the track; whites on the other side.
Dowden is a living testament to a life of struggle, sacrifice and ultimately success. When she was 10 years old, her mom cooked a dewberry pie after working the cotton fields all day. She then went to a friend's house and died.
"It was real devastating," Dowden says softly. "I was 10. My sister was 12, and we didn't know how to do nothing. And we had to take care of our little brother."
She missed one year of schooling because her father, Moses Wilson, couldn't afford schoolbooks. He died four days after she turned 18.
She had two photos of her parents, but they were lost over the years. She knows even less about her grandparents.
"All I know is, he said that his momma was sold. She was auctioned off," Dowden says. "I don't know where she was from. I don't know anything about her." Story continued here

Political high noon, economic midnight,’ says Rev. Jackson

By HERB BOYD and NAYABA ARINDE Special to the Amsterdam News
“While we are politically at high noon, we are economically at midnight,” said the Rev. Jesse Jackson. The renowned minister was recently in town to promote his upcoming 12th annual Wall Street Project Economic Summit and to share some of his views on the disparity between the current economic and political issues. “As President Barack is rising,” Jackson continued, “our economy is falling. The economic downturn is double trouble for us.” The “us,” Rev. Jackson, founder and president of RainbowPUSH, was referring to is Black Americans. “In the best of times, we are number one in mortalities.” His misery index included infant mortality, life expectancy, homicide and you know the drill. But most of his comments were keyed to the dismal economic picture, and at the top of his agenda was the credit crisis. “Over half of our small businesses depend on credit, and when they are unable to get credit and loans, their businesses suffer, and many of them are forced to layoff workers and eventually close,” Jackson began, as he sat in the Harlem office of the AmNewson Monday. Then came the sub-prime crisis, he continued. “We were clustered and targeted in the sense that we have to pay more for less,” Jackson explained. Unfortunately, he said, the combined credit crisis and home foreclosures did not come with a bailout. Click Here For Full Story

PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA ARRIVES IN WASHINGTON D.C. ..WELCOME MR. PRESIDENT!

HUFFINGTONPOST.COM
WASHINGTON — Michelle Obama and her two daughters arrived Saturday in Washington, ahead of President-elect Barack Obama who was expected to make the trip the next day.
The Obamas arrived at their temporary home at the Hay-Adams Hotel, near the White House, on Saturday evening. Aides confirmed their arrival only after the Obamas checked into the hotel and declined to release any details. They had no public schedule.
The Obamas moved early so their daughters _ 7-year-old Sasha and 10-year-old Malia _ could start classes on Monday at the private Sidwell Friends School, an aide said. Other children of well-known politicians to attend the school include Al Gore III and Chelsea Clinton.
The Obamas are staying at the storied Hay-Adams because Blair House, the government's official guest residence, was booked solidly through Jan. 15, the Bush administration said. Blair House is located across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House and has previously housed presidents-elect before taking the oath of office. The Obamas will relocate there on Jan. 15 and stay until the inauguration on Jan. 20.

Barack Obama pledges not to smoke in White House
BY Michael McAuliff DAILY NEWS WASHINGTON BUREAU
The jazz will be smoking, but the President won't be in the Obama White House. The President-elect declared Sunday that he would make the First Family's home the "people's house" and open it up for science seminars, kids groups and music - specifically classical and jazz.
There won't be any hipsters lighting up while blowing their horns, however, said Obama, who has been struggling to ditch his own cigarette habit. The soon-to-be quitter in chief told NBC's "Meet The Press" that he will abide by the smoke-free rules of the White House, even if it's tough.

How About The Government Bailing US out...The Citizens?

Democratic presidential elect Barack Obama, speaks during a news conference in Clearwater, Fla., (AP Photo/Chris Carlson)

Recently I have been mulling over all of these proposed and enacted bailouts and asked myself, "Why don't they bail out us, the average people...we, the people?"

How about we all write, no, visit our political leaders to request that Congress provide each of us with $250,000 versus the billions they're giving to industries that will only fall again if we, the people, are not in a position to patronize them.

Many of us have had some investments and some operational expenditures adversely affected by the sudden downturn in our economy. It has caused us to have to reconsider supporting our local business, and I know that this has placed an unexpected loss of revenue on the local community.

This of course will have an adverse impact on businesses being able to meet payroll, and may result in lay-offs for workers, which will only exacerbate an already poor economy.

Personally, I will use this $250,000 to give a stimulus to both my local economy and guarantee a mortgage debt with my lender. This will provide an infusion of unexpected cash to this lender, and free up cash for them to continue lending money to others so that our consumer-driven economy can survive and return to a thriving expansion sooner rather than later.

Come to think of it, how far could the $700 billion authorized by Congress have gone if we would have simply paid the mortgages of American home buyers across the board, up to the average cost of a home in our country?

It seems to me that if this approach had been adopted, there would have been the desired infusion of cash into the marketplace, and home buyers would have been relieved of significant debt, allowing them to spend that money in the economy resulting in expansion instead of recession.

Instead, we are giving this money to companies that are obviously continuing to follow broken models, paying outrageous salaries and bonuses to a select few executives, taking excursions to far off lands (expanding other countries' economies).

Now we are being told that we are not going to retire mortgage debts or buy up questionable mortgages but we that we are giving the money to those very institutions that have pushed our personal debt out of all proportions so they can lend money to Americans already in financial crisis.

I was not in favor of the initial AIG bailout or the initial $700 billion Congress gave to the secretary of the Treasury, and I'm especially not in favor of giving more money to the auto industry.

I am almost at the stage of saying if my government can do these things and if the companies of this country can do these things, then I as a private citizen can likewise call for funds to help secure my household expenses and debts or the nation risks the removal of my cash and capital from the economy.

When viewed from the perspective of a lone individual, my letter is, no doubt, laughable. But if viewed from the perspective of 4.5 million people taking up the cause and removing their capital and cash from the economy, it is a destructive force of indescribable proportion.

Our politicians speak constantly of the "average citizen" and the "average" citizens experiences during their speeches.

Well, I don't know about you, but "average" to me means something like what my family experiences, day in, day out.

College tuition, Food, Gas, Plumbing (yeah, nothing like an unexpected leak to throw off expenses), medical, visa and immigration fees and other necessities.

I work...HARD for my money and I don't play. But how do you budget when one thing goes down and three others skyrocket?

All of us - you and me - struggle each month to keep our heads above water -- some, like me, trying to pay tuition for family members we're trying to keep in college, while doing what we, as everyday Average Americans have been instructed to do, take a good chunk of what we earn every week and toss the money into a retirement savings account. Then watch as mutual funds implode and years of savings are wiped out. But what are you going to do?

This foreclosure crisis has created a domino effect for all of us. Many are about to lose businesses, homes, apartments, cars, etc because as a direct affect, personal credit has spilled over into the arena. People are actually facing the possibility of being homeless or living in substandard housing!

Perhaps many of those struggling seem bitter, pardon them, but when they hear all this talk about bailing the fat cats out of their messes, it begins to take it's toll on these "average" citizens.

Now that so many are suffering financial chaos, funds for assistance to renters are also not readily available. Funds for those needing food is not available, but still we have those already receiving government assistance applying for and getting more and in no way are they assisting any sort of stimulation of our economy.

Many of those suffering have never asked for any public assistance while raising their family and now that they need help its not available to them?

What about those of us who have worked hard all our lives and can't catch a break now that it is needed? It just goes to show that those who have get and those who truly need are on their own?

Oh...and for heaven's sake, political leaders...Mr. President, don't let this get any worse. Forget bailing out the auto industry...if you don't help us and others worse off than us, bailing out the auto industry will be a wasted event since none of us will be able to keep the cars we have let alone afford to buy any vehicles! And in order to maintain the modicum of dignity that many of us might still have, we ask that you do this expeditiously so that we are not living in the streets, motels or our cars...........

Signed,
An American Citizen
