2013 Grammys Recap

I wasn't going to watch this but because my Facebook news feed became filled with the ooh's and aah's I decided to tune in and it was indeed VERY interesting.

Some of the evening's notable highlights were...

Dang could Jay give his thanks?!?! Damn Frank Ocean and Dream acting like they ain't never win a Grammy before. Jay got him back by dissing his Boyz N The Hood skully. Meanwhile in Rio Kim and Kanye are picking baby names while her husband wonders when are they ever gonna get divorced?!?!

LL Cool J, Chuck D and Travis Barker performing "Whaddup" this  live show was very energizing but I did say to myself Mr. James stick to acting. Lol

Ummmm...Frank Ocean sang a song about Forrest Gump running?? I'm so confused but ole boy can't really wonder why he DIDNT win for that song...

The artist formally known as Prince was there and he presented an award and it was clear this man does not age and will be forever young.

Bruno Mars,Sting and The Markey's were awesome. How could you not get up out your seat? Ellen was jammin so was Taylor Swift. That was a great performance not sure why RiRi was there but hey she needed more camera time for her wig she borrowed from Bey

What's up with Carrie Underwood's Light Bright dress?!?!?!

The music that was played throughout the show was indeed diverse thank heavens I listen to WKTU 103.5 when in the car with my kids because I definitely would not have been familiar with the performing artist.

I was a but disturbed that Nas didn't win but it is still a great look being nominated.

Kisha's Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Analysis

This season us the public got to sit down weekly and watch dysfunction, chaos and confusion. These people were the butt of many jokes many times I didn't know whether to laugh or cry because something's were just too much.

Lil Scrappy was torn between his daughters mother, Erica and bootylicious Shay. This whole season we watched him go back and forth between two women. He was truly torn between good and evil and his mom didn't help the situation either because instead of promoting a healthy monogamous relationship she encouraged a playa's lifestyle.

Stevie J spent the shows season playing his daughter's mother, Mimi and his chick on the side /protege Joseline. He truly had his cake and ate it too and initially viewers felt sorry for Mimi but that later changed because people couldn't understand why a beautiful woman would allow a man to demean her every week. Joseline turned her negative into a positive by simply playing Stevie's game but according to her rules. She played when necessary and on her terms.

The show touched on domestic violence as aspiring singer K.Michelle revealed she was in an abusive relationship with hit producer Memphitz .He dangled that over her head and she sold her soul to the devil for the possible chance to become a star. So after walking away she still had to fight because no one believed her. Memphitz denies her allegation as well as his wife Toya ( Lil Wayne's ex wife ) I thought it was courageous of K.Michelle to reveal such a personal side of life to the public since we know plenty of battered women never tell or don't live to tell.

We watched Rasheeda and Kirk try to juggle marriage, parenting and career and on the outside looking in it appeared the couple had the perfect life. What cameras revealed was a struggling marriage that was in turmoil due to life stressors and in a society where people quickly turn to divorce as a solution, the couple took stock of the relationship and decided their marriage was MORE important than fame.

We saw a very vulnerable Benzino look for love and when he met aspiring singer Karlie, he thought it was a match made in heaven but unbeknownst to him she had her eyes on the prize and it wasn't him, it was what he could do for her. He believed he was in love and thought they could work on forever as a powerful couple. Reality set in and he removed those rose tinted glasses and ended the relationship.

Overall as many complained that this show like many other reality shows displayed African Americans in a poor light. I felt that although they decided to live out in the public's eye they all were unique and had a different quality.

I saw they all had different issues that they had to handle as well as personal demons to conquer as well. What we can learn from this show is that we ALL have problems and even though many would not admit they could easily identify with these people.

Many judged this cast but many lived a similar life minus the glitz and glam. Infedelity, Domestic Violence, Mental Abuse, Marriage, Lies and Betrayal are all things we have experienced at some point in time.

This show depicted real life and real emotions and although many didn't agree how they handled particular situations it was a glimpse into their lives dysfunctional and raw.

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta's Shay "Bucky" Johnson Interview

So I know a lot of you including myself are Love & Hip Hop Atlanta fans. It's a guilty pleasure we indulge into on a weekly basis. So I was happy to interview Shay "Bucky" Johnson and see where her head's at...You be the judge.

KG: Readers may be familiar with you from reality shows Flavor of Love 2 and Charmed School but what was Shay doing before those opportunities presented themselves?

SJ: I started off in music videos. I started working for the top casting directors in Atlanta. Once I made that transition, it made it easier for me to get into all the castings. From there, I went into reality television.

KG: When approached to be on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, what were your original thoughts?

SJ: I didn’t know what to expect of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, but I knew that Scrappy would be on it therefore I was down for whatever.

KG: What are your thoughts about some saying Love & Hip Hop Atlanta along with a host of other reality shows do not show African American women in a positive light?

SJ: To say that urban reality shows don’t show African American women in a positive light is an opinion and everyone has one. I respect everybody’s opinion, but I can never satisfy everyone. Therefore I just give you who I am and hopefully you like it.

KG: Many say reality shows are fake and scripted, you being on different ones what do you say? Is the camera showing us the real Shay?

SJ: Because I have been on reality tv my opinion is, its not scripted; but there is a lot that you don’t see and you have no control over the editing process. Which does not bother me at all. Keep in mind most seasons consist of ten weeks and that is one hour of our lives per week. So you aren’t getting too much to go off of. Based on the Love & Hip Hop numbers, the world is watching right now. Like Jay Z said men lie, numbers don’t... next question!

KG: What is something you wished someone would have told you before entering the entertainment industry that you didn't know?

SJ: I would say, value your privacy and be more careful when it comes to your personal life.

KG:One word that best describes you?

SJ: Ambitious

KG: Where do you see yourself ten years from now?

SJ: Married with children, an entrepreneur, by that time I know the Shay Johnson brand will be worldwide.

That's all folks!

Hump Day Buzz...

Greetings Lovelies!!!

I swear these celebs make my job so easy...lol

•Stevie J and Joseline are engaged...Holy smokes Batman!!!

• Why oh why would Stevie J produce a song with Karlie and Joseline...my ears are bleeding already...That's a Tropical train wreck in the making...lol

•Beyonce loves Michelle Obama just as much as we do, in a recent video she spoke very highly of the First Lady, “I’m so in awe of Michelle Obama. Every time I see her, she inspires me, she empowers me, she encourages me to live a healthy lifestyle.”

•Katy Perry and Russell Brand are officially divorced...Whoop! There it is!! Lol

•Will Smith and daughter Willow were photographed on a recent flight. It captures a Father's love.

•Speaking of photos the president and first lady were taken while they were watching the game.

•This Summer Rihanna was dating Chris Brown, then got with Drake then those two were beefing at a NY nightclub so RiRi left that drama and got with NY Knick JR Smith last week and since then kicked him to curb and now dating Philly rapper Meek Mill. Her summer has been productive! Ha!

• Kris Humphries posted a tweet that totally mocks Kanye West ... saying, "I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ 'lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team' lol!"The tweet was an obvious reference to the diss-track Kanye released ... in which he trashed Kris and bragged that he could have his BFF Jay-Z fire Kris whenever he wanted. Kris Humphries doesn't need Kim Kardashian to make a living at all because he just signed a $24 MILLION contract with the Brooklyn Nets. It's a 2-year deal according to ESPN. I think it's safe to say he's laughing all the way to the bank!

Stay cool :-)

This & That

Ok lovelies, so I watched Love&Hip Hop Atlanta and this show entertains me to the fullest. Here is my run down on the cast.

Stevie J- Ummmm maybe he should focus more on producing music and less f***ing.

Mimi- I'm glad she finally got a clue. #NuffSaid

Karlie- Ummmm....is she a dancer???

K.Michelle- I like her! She seems real and straight to the point. I was rolling when she called Joseline a tropical bird.

Joseline- Ummm...I do like her accent tho' lol

Erica- She should be glad Scrappy ended it. Never make someone a priority when they only consider you an option.

Scrappy- Just wants his cake and damn sure wanna eat it too!

Mama Dee- She scares me!!! Lol

•Christina Milian and her ex The Dream were twitter beefing this past weekend. Milian alleges that Dream doesn't spend time with their daughter, Violet.

•Amber Rose is supposedly pregnant by fiancĂ© Wiz Khalifa. Do we care??? Exactly! Lol

•Basketball Wives LA is coming back minus Imani but two new cast mates. This should be interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing Jackie and her multiple personalities.

•Kanye West and Kim K are rumored to be getting a reality show. Although this has yet to be confirmed by E!, but it is being rumored to be. I'm not sure if I'm interested in watching these two.

•Bathing Suit company River Island has teamed up with Rihanna to release a line of bathing suits and tweeted a picture of the first of several suits to come.

Ok stay safe and cool until next time lovelies ;-)
