Interview with Best-Selling Author & Empowerment Speaker *MO STEGALL*

Best-selling author Mo Stegall is one man with an exceptional amount of knowledge that chooses to pass it along to others by empowering others to be all that they were called to be. In addition to selling books off the shelves on a regular basis he also is a motivational speaker, mentor and a fun outgoing person that just loves people.

When asked how it feels to be a best-selling author he comments that when it first happened “I was floored”.  Never even have dreamt of being an author in the first place he counts it all as an honor and a privilege. His latest book is entitled “From the Hands of Delilah to the Arms of Samson”. With such a dynamic title he says when naming the book he looked at the origin of how God designed Samson and what it relates to today how many men fall to beautiful women and how powerful Delilah was back in the biblical time. Stegall’s reason for writing the book was to help men understand that they are to be held accountable for their actions and understand why God made them in the first place. He also wants women to understand what men go through. The book in his own words is to help women “become the jewel he desperately needs” and for men to “be the man she essentially desires”.  With a message like that how could you pass up an opportunity not to read it? It is available wherever books are sold.

Before becoming a best selling author, Stegall has had many opportunities to utilize his many talents. About ten years ago he was working at a performing arts high-school empowering children to go far and beyond and helping them to see themselves for who they really are versus what the society labeled them as. He has also had the pleasure to tour with another best-selling author and actor Hill Harper on an empowerment tour. I could go on and on about his extensive resume from where he was to where he is presently but that would take all day! The opportunities he has had are endless and rather impressive.

As a man with many talents already he doesn't limit himself to just what he’s already done. Currently Stegall is also pursuing acting, television and commercials. The list goes on. When, if ever, does he have free time and how does he spend it? He says “I’m really just a homebody”. Not having children of his own he loves to spend time with his nieces and nephews.  Bowling and family outings are just a couple of the activities he enjoys in his spare time. Being around family is a big part of his life and how stays grounded.

Wrapping up the interview I always ask my signature question to my guests: “If you were in another part of the world and nobody knew who you were; how would you introduce yourself”? His response was “Hey, I’m Mo Stegall, a country boy, who likes, grits, scrambled eggs with cheese or Beat It Michael Jackson clothes with the pockets on the sleeves”. Hilarious comment! However, he is modest and said he wouldn’t actually say anything other than his name because he says he doesn’t have the personality to make people need to know who he is to make him feel relevant.

Being very relevant, Mo Stegall is a powerhouse! Known also as “The Treasure Hunter” he has a way of helping people find their treasures and unlock their potential. Whether it is through his books or just by sitting in a room and hearing him speak he has a way to capture your attention and leave you feeling empowered, uplifted and inspired! Much more is in store for him and we wish him much continued success!

Getting Ahead: Ocean Township woman translated passion for novels into career.

I was destined to be a star. That is what I told myself as I would sing my favorite Janet Jackson tune into my hairbrush while looking at myself in the mirror.

The dream was short-lived because reality set in. I was indeed going to be a star, but not for singing and dancing.

I had another passion - reading. I owe that to my mother, who was an avid reader and instilled the same joy in me. I loved mystery and suspense novels by authors such as Mary Higgins Clark and V.C. Andrews. I also loved reading about the rich and famous, turning to such authors as Jackie Collins and Danielle Steele.

After many - and I do mean many - years of reading and journaling, I finally decided to try my hand at writing. After getting feedback from my friends and family, I penned my first novel, "And Even If I Did," in 2006. This novel was a story about three Jersey girls looking for love.

This accomplishment sealed my fate. I had officially been bitten by the writing bug. I went on to release four more titles, all while operating an online radio show, Writer's Life Chats, and an online literary magazine, Writer's Vibe.

I had a passion for anything literary. After losing my full-time job as a medical assistant in 2009, I realized I had to make my passion for books work for me. During this time, I saw that social media was growing.

I studied the various mediums to determine how I could expand my brand and make money; hence, my author and product promotion services were conceived.

Through my research, I learned that the greatest challenge for authors was getting their work in the hands of readers.

I used popular social-networking sites to expose my clients to new readers. Given the success of my author clients, I decided to expand my services to other professionals who needed help with exposure. Today I operate my own publishing company, DivaBooksInc, which is the umbrella company for my services, which range from interviews, literary consulting and book/product marketing and promotion.

Although I do not have a degree in journalism or marketing, my motto is "Failure is not an option." With that attitude, I am destined for greatness. For every "no," I create my own "yes." Everything I have learned has come as a result of extensive research and determination.

What started as a hobby is now a thriving business that brings me great satisfaction. I am my own boss which makes me a proud entrepreneur. At one time I only saw myself as a health care worker. While that title was fulfilling, it was not as fulfilling as helping others turn their visions into reality. I take great satisfaction in knowing I help others make a living. Every day I think of new and unique ways to expand my brand while leaving a legacy for my four children.

Q's Tip's: Be My Motivation by @agent17prime

Be My Motivation....

So I know these people who set goals, plans, and personal achievements for changing their body. When it comes to their bodies, constant nit picking and objectifying their bodies so that it feels better, look’s better, performs better and hopefully lives longer. When you start the program that you have decided upon to help you reach those goals, you are very excited, enthusiastic, and full of energy, there is virtually nothing that will stop you from reaching your goal or achievement.
