Real Talk: Nike and Lebron James are like drug dealers at Thanksgiving

The new Lebron James sneakers costs over three hundred dollars. That money is going to be well spent by millions of young black males in the inner cities. Will this new sneaker give them any more hops? Money? Groupies? Wealth? Nike stock? The answer to all of these questions is..no.



Nike who has pimped the black community for years with their overpriced sneakers made by below poverty level workers in foreign places knows no shame. Phil Knight came to his tower of money first by having Jordan pimp his sneakers to black boys, now Lebron is the new Huggy Bear.



For all of Stephon Marbury faults, he at least understands the dynamic of keeping the price of sneakers low for inner city boys to purchase them. It takes a special kind of greed that makes our celebrity brothers who also happen to be moguls squeeze the washcloth of hope from the young impressionable black male for the sake of the almighty dollar. You could @KingJames make these sneakers more affordable for the Tyrones and Hakims of the streets. Must it always be about money? The social aspect of giving back is lost with the price of these sneakers. Wait..is a portion of the money going to HBCUs? Scholarships for low-income students? Nope. It all goes to Nino Brown and G- Money..Nike and Lebron. Its a shame King..maybe one day you'll understand that passing out turkeys at Thanksgiving will only get you but so love in the hood bruh.

Try to understand that these young boys want to be King James.. in your quest for becoming the billion dollar athlete..try to make it a little easier for little Hasan to live in his own kingdom too.
