A weekend has passed since DJ Khaled, YMCB producer, has proposed to Nicki Minaj and she still has not responded.

Khaled claims this was not a stunt but of course suggested she could take her time to respond to the proposal. So now fans are watching, waiting for her response.

On Thursday, Khaled took to MTV to record a video expressing his love to Minaj, "Nicki Minaj, I'm at MTV, I'm going to be honest with you; I love you. I like you, I want you, I want you to be mine. Only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I understand that you're busy."

He continued, "We got the same symptoms, we're both suffering from success. ...You gotta take your time and think about it, I understand, but I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and how serious this is to me."

And then Boom!,  finished the video saying " Nicki Minaj, will you marry me?, flashing karats for a queen.

Friday, we heard rumors that Minaj filed a restraining order against her producer. But this morning, Khaled responded to the rumors via twitter, “Y’all know better than that they don’t put restraining orders on bosses.” Followed by, “I’m the DON U witnessing greatness I’m the best that ever did it! JUS KNOW! #sufferingfromsuccess.”

So Nicki! We're all waiting...are you two getting married or are you going to stay true to Drake?

MTV's '$5 Cover' will debut online, on TV and at Paradiso

By John Beifuss
Music Television network executives are so enthusiastic about Craig Brewer’s made-in-Memphis MTV series “$5 Cover” — a rock-and-soul drama created as Internet programming for MTV New Media — that they’ve decided to air it on television in addition to presenting it online.

The series debuts on May 1. But Memphians will get to see the full 15 episodes of “$5 Cover” first, in a premiere screening tentatively set for 7 p.m. April 30 at the Malco Paradiso, 584 S. Mendenhall.Tickets, which are scheduled to go on sale next week, will be $10 each. The event is a benefit for the Indie Memphis Film Festival. MTV officials had not expected to air the series on TV. “It was not made or meant to be a TV series, but the quality is so good we’re putting it there,” said David Gale, executive vice president of MTV New Media. “Since it’s so cinematic, the experience on television is a really good one.” Beginning May 1 and continuing through the month, “$5 Cover” episodes, music videos and mini-documentaries and musicians’ profiles created by local filmmakers Sarah Fleming, Christopher Reyes and Brad Phelan of Live from Memphis and Alan Spearman of The Commercial Appeal can be found not just on the series’ Web site, fivedollarcover.com, but on such channels as MTV, MTV2 and the college campus-oriented mtvU. Some of the material also will appear on such sites as commercialappeal.com, livefrommemphis.com and memphistravel.com, the Web site of the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau.

MTV celebrates 'Real World' cast member Pedro Zamora's HIV battle

By David Hinckley
DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER

MTV marks the beginning of STD Awareness Month Wednesday night with the premiere of "Pedro," a biopic celebrating the life of Pedro Zamora.
Zamora, for those who didn't follow the early days of "reality" television, was the first openly HIV-positive person to become a prominent character on MTV's "The Real World," back in 1994.
He died at the age of 22, not long after the show ended, but he used his high profile to raise awareness of sexually transmitted diseases. He caught the eye of President Clinton and is today regarded as a courageous pioneer in speaking openly about something that's still hard to talk about.
"Pedro" was written by Dustin Lance Black, who won the Academy Award for "Milk," and while it's never fully triumphant, it moves past bleak to become defiant and hopeful.
The film at first flirts with pseudo-documentary, re-creating scenes from "Real World" episodes in which Pedro (played by Alex Loynaz) was accepted by some housemates and mocked by others.
To its credit, "Pedro" doesn't portray Zamora as a saint. He has an agenda for being on the show, and he tests people's patience with his relentless ability to stay "on message."
It also acknowledges he contracted HIV from unprotected sex at a time when AIDS had been around long enough so he should have known that was not a good idea.
But by portraying him as human, "Pedro" also humanizes everyone - from Sean, the man he started dating when he moved to San Francisco for the "Real World" taping, to his sister Mily, who came with Pedro and their parents from Cuba in the Mariel boatlift of 1980.
Perhaps most intriguing is the relationship he develops and maintains with Judd (Hale Appleman), his roommate from "The Real World."
Judd, a quiet fellow, becomes an ally in the "Real World" house and stays in touch after the filming ends. When Pedro is hospitalized, Judd is there, the Everyman whose presence tells all the other people that there's nothing to be afraid of.
Pedro's fame flows like an undercurrent through the film without dominating it. Most of the scenes are more private, with family and friends adjusting to what is happening with Pedro.
The camera lingers long enough on these intimate scenes, including the night of Pedro's death, that at times it's hard to watch.
Which, in a sense, it probably should be - because the point, after all, is that Pedro Zamora knew how tough it was and faced it anyway.

T.I.'s Road to Redemption Episode 2

Did you see last week's episode of TI's Road to Redemption? It's a great show and I love what he's doing to help troubled youth. Even though he has to do it for community service, he seems like a really genuine person. I hope he makes a lasting, positive impression on these young men. Check out a sneak peak of episode two. In this episode, T.I. tackles an Atlanta teen named Trey who is running the streets with a violent gang. Watch as he takes Trey to the house he grew up in for a visit with his Uncle Quint.

MTV's the "REAL WORLD" comes to Brooklyn!

The Show That Put the ‘Real’ in Reality TV
By GINIA BELLAFANTE

In the 17 years “The Real World” has been appearing on MTV, it has deployed the services of 400 editors to scan 40,000 hours of film. As Jon Murray, one of the executive producers, explains in “The Real World: Secrets Revealed,” a special being shown this week anticipating the new season’s start on Wednesday, this progenitor of reality television today was conceived as a scripted series about the lives of young people in New York called “St. Marks Place.” The idea, though, quickly morphed into the notion of housing a group of 20-somethings under one roof (preferably with a hot tub) and installing cameras.
check out the video trailer

In Mr. Murray’s telling, the producers tried to manipulate group dynamics only once, during the first season, when cameras were rolling, but nothing was happening, and they were moved to provoke by depositing in the house a coffee table book with nude pictures of a cast member who was a male model. This apparently turned cast against crew, and the producers learned their lesson, or so they say. People have forever accused the show of being staged, even as debating the truth claims of reality television has come to seem like arguing over whether smoking is actually bad for you.
