Relationships: Will Nicki Respond to Khalid?

By Jas:

Nicki Minaj tweeted a surprised would be announced at 9 a.m. today.
The surprise-- her fragrance coming out in fall.

A weekend has passed since DJ Khaled, YMCB producer, has proposed to Nicki Minaj and she still has not responded.

Khaled claims this was not a stunt but of course suggested she could take her time to respond to the proposal. So now fans are watching, waiting for her response.

On Thursday, Khaled took to MTV to record a video expressing his love to Minaj, "Nicki Minaj, I'm at MTV, I'm going to be honest with you; I love you. I like you, I want you, I want you to be mine. Only reason I'm not telling you this face to face is because I understand that you're busy."

He continued, "We got the same symptoms, we're both suffering from success. ...You gotta take your time and think about it, I understand, but I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and how serious this is to me."

And then Boom!,  finished the video saying " Nicki Minaj, will you marry me?, flashing karats for a queen.

Friday, we heard rumors that Minaj filed a restraining order against her producer. But this morning, Khaled responded to the rumors via twitter, “Y’all know better than that they don’t put restraining orders on bosses.” Followed by, “I’m the DON U witnessing greatness I’m the best that ever did it! JUS KNOW! #sufferingfromsuccess.”

So Nicki! We're all waiting...are you two getting married or are you going to stay true to Drake?

Kisha's RHOA Recap

#RatchetRealityTV

Bryson makes his debut with his new daughter Bri'Asia. I hope he's finished shoplifting from Walmart. He is currently employed so that's a good thing. What he needs to do is invest in some clippers and cut those naps!

Kenya- Did this heffa just say people mistake her for Beyonce?!?!?! It is official she is CRAZY!!!! But why is she still sweating the issue about getting married to Walter when he isn't interested in her like that. Kenya is too superficial thinking that all it takes is a pretty face and a booty to keep a man. She's too old to behave the way she does.

NeNe- Happy that her and Greg are working on forever and congrats to them. Greg proposed to her last week and she accepted. Real love is hard to find especially in the entertainment industry, so why you have it you gotta keep it. The jury is still out on how rich she really is but I know she is not on Bill Gates level, that's for damn sure.

Kandi- Who told this chick to wear those glimmer shorts?!?! Only thing missing was a stripper pole.

Cynthia- I think she means well and I'm liking that she is having more of a backbone this seasoning. I like her and NeNe's friendship and I can see her being a big sister/mentor to Porsha.

Kisha's Monday Reality TV Recap

BBWLA
Jackie is preparing for fashion week and she's on cloud nine but its short lived because she's obsessed over Laura when she knows damn well she doesn't like her.

Brooke got the King cover but Draya is being a little bit of a hater when there's no need. The editor was unprofessional by discussing Draya without her being there to defend herself but other than that Draya needs to get over it and be a friend all the way or not at all.

Laura is on some meds cause she's actually being nice...

Bambi is not a rapper but we all can dream right?!?!

Gloria.....blah blah blah

Malaysia...(Insert yawn here)

TI & Tiny
Shikana is a HOT mess and very disrespectful. She's Tiny's hair dresser but she is jealous of Tiny or so it seems. I enjoy this show but the highlight is TI with his parenting and the Major's unexpected comic relief.

Marrying The Game
I'm trying y'all but this is a hard show for me. Game means well but it's just unfair to Tiffany has to do it all.

Shopping Addiction
It's always to tune in each week to watch but tonight I'm just like wow are these people that damn self absorbed that they don't see how their shopping is ruining their lives?!?!?! It's just sad! #EndOfStory

Single Forever or Happily Ever After

I use to believe in the fairy tales that one day I would meet the man of my dreams and we would get married, have kids, and just live happily ever after together in our beautiful home. Well now that I am older I wonder, will I ever have that happy ending?  Don’t get me wrong yes one day I would like to have the husband, the kids, but the older I get I start to think maybe that is not what God has in store for me. Now do any other women feel this way? I know I can’t be alone.

What in the world...

As if reality tv isnt enough for us to get that daily dose of what is supposed to be a up close and personal look into someone's life, there is always someone going above and beyond to be extrememly extra in the real world. These people I often call thirsty because there is no other real explanation for such actions. Well in this case we have a man from Russia, Alexey Byko who gets the Supersized WTF Award.

So boy meets girl...

Boy likes girl...

Girl likes boy...

Boy and girl fall in love...

Boy and girl get married...

They live happily ever after...

Seems like the norm for two people wanting start a life together right?
Well, here is where the plot thickens, Alexey decides that he does indeed want to work on forever with his girlfriend Irena but first he must propose, but he doesnt want just any ole basic type proposal. So after some thought, clearly not a lot of it either,Alexey decides that he is going to make this a proposal- One that Irena would NEVER forget.

This dude went out a hired a movie set ensemable of people to help him re-enact a fatal car accident. There was fake blood and everything from a classic scene out of a Final Destination movie all the blood and gore one could imagine. He then called his girlfriend to meet him at the "spot" and once she did it would be lights, camera and plenty of action.

Irena nearly has a coronary upon arrival seeing her dearly beloved covered in blood and cuts and to hear those words that he is dead from the paramedic and she is heartbroken until Alexey rises from the "dead" to walk over to a greiving Irena who is now scared to death and is not quite sure if she is coming or going at this point.

Alexey then proposes fake blood and all with the theme for his crazy ass proposal “I wanted her to realize how empty her life would be without me and how life would have no meaning without me".

#WhereTheyDoThatAt

Irena was mad but later forgave him and they were married a week later...Smh! Let's see if Kimye can top that! Lol ;-)

Book Review: "I Didn't Work This Hard Just To Get Married"

By Nika C. Beamon, forward by Dr. Bella DePaulo

People are single for a reason. The causes and reasons are as unique as the single person in question. However, people are bombarded with statistics quite frequently, but rarely with reasons and causes – especially when concerning single, successful, black women; or the reasons given are based on a few select women and given as a generalized overview.

In the book I Didn’t Work This Hard Just To Get Married: Successful Single Black Women Speak Out, author Nika C. Beamon goes beyond the numbers and gets answers from black women about why they are single. The women featured in this book include actress and comedienne Kim Coles and movie producer Effie T. Brown. Though their stories are different, there is one similarity in the attitudes of each woman: they are happily single.

That’s a powerful statement: to be happily single. That idea of being secure as a single, successful, independent black woman is reiterated throughout the book by the different women; sometimes in the same language, often in different words. It shows a multitude of paths on the journey of self-awareness and happiness.

The women are diverse in opinion and experience. There are single mothers, divorcees, and never-married childless women that share their stories of how they became happily single. Some of the women are religious, while others are less so or have non-traditional views on being a woman, sex, and relationships. All of the women are breaking down barriers in their careers, and are doing so while breaking through stereotypes and societal beliefs concerning single women.

The women in the book claim not to be bitter or fall into the “angry black woman” stereotype. However, the beginning couple of sections featured woman that seem to harp on the idea that there aren’t any good black men worth dating – an opinion that Beamon is ready to supply statistics to support. It could be that the women were simply relating experiences from past relationships, but there is a hint that some might have – or are close to – given up on black men in general.

True, men do have to share some of the burden of why women who want to eventually marry (the right guy) are left unmarried. Many men aren’t marriage material, or they don’t want to marry. This book isn’t about men, though; it’s about women taking shape and control of their relationship status without feeling the need to be tied to a man. It’s about women taking responsibility for their lives – and the lives of their children.

Most of the childless women in the book express a desire to become mothers, with or without a man. At first, it might appear that the need to procreate or sow wild oats isn’t unique to the male species; but some of the ladies do point out that if they are unable to find a suitable father for the child, they would not be opposed to adoption. For many of the women, the attitude is: biological clock be damned; the maternal instinct won’t wait for the right man.

This book is good for women who are happily single and need to know that there are others like her; or women who aren’t happily single or in a bad relationship and want to get to the place of self-reliance and self-esteem the women in the book have reached. Men will also find this book useful, because they are able to get insight into the mind of successful black women without having to ask many of the tough questions themselves.

However, men should ask their potential mate the questions anyways. If this book shows the reader anything, it’s that every woman’s reason for being single and attitude towards singlehood is different from the next woman.

INTERNET AND CELL PHONE SECRECY - Marriage Message #77

by Cindy and Steve Wright

"Ever since the Internet has become a regular part of the human experience, cyberspace has been implicated as an accomplice in online affairs, real life adultery, and the break-up marriages. With every new online fad have come the stories of spouses wandering away from their marriage to a new cyber love interest. Media has spotlighted trends of online affairs starting through chat rooms, MySpace, Second Life, web sites and online forums. Is Facebook, the world's fastest growing online social network, just another in a long list of cyber threats to your marriage?
"Having been active Facebook users for a while and experiencing the good, the bad, and the ugly of participating in an online social network, we recognize there are potential threats to your relationship. But the ultimate threat is not the latest technology ... it is the choices you make online and offline ... in cyberspace and real life" (K Jason Krafsky). To that we say AMEN, AMEN and AMEN! And we include cell phone and Internet use on that poor choice list.

We can't even BEGIN to tell you the number of related emails, testimonies, and postings on the Marriage Missions web site that we've heard and read where spouses are crying and screaming out because of the choices their partners are making which are destroying their marriages. It's almost at epidemic proportions. Most of these are good Christians who put a toe in the pool of temptation and then eventually dive in completely, afterward confessing, "I/we never meant for this to happen." Yet it did and it does. And as a result, innocent hearts are breaking.

There is SO much we could write on this subject, but we need to be brief. However, for those who have access to the Internet, we'll have additional info on this topic posted in this Message on our web site at www.marriagemissions.com. This is a wake-up call; we MUST protect our marriages from the sneakiness and secrecy that is going on that is destroying relationships everywhere. We can't ignore that which is so insidious and pervasive!

In the great article, "Is Facebook a Cyber Threat to Your Marriage" by Jason and Kelli Krafsky (which we will have a link to on our web site), Jason tells of a sad experience, which led him and his wife to protect their marriage. He then wrote, "In the final book of the Old Testament, Malachi 2 talks about setting up a protective perimeter around the covenant relationship, 'And what does he want from marriage? Children of God, that's what. So guard the spirit of marriage within you. Don't cheat on your spouse. 'I hate divorce,' says the God of Israel... 'I hate the violent dismembering of the 'one flesh' of marriage.' So watch yourselves. Don't let your guard down. Don't cheat' (The Message).

"One of the boundaries we set up as a perimeter around our relationship is that neither of us will be alone with someone of the opposite sex. Not because we're worried about the other cheating, but to avoid the appearance of impropriety or being caught in a potential he/she said situation. We've heard too many stories of how an accusation (some true, some false) has tarnished a reputation or ended a career. Being active Facebookers, we've adopted our real life set of boundaries for our online world with Facebook friends."

Jason went on to give "Five Ways to Diffuse the Cyber Threats to Your Marriage." There is more in the article but here is his shortened list: "(1) Set Safeguards With Your Mate - Discuss with your mate: What FaceBook friends and groups are inbounds or out-of-bounds? (2) Don't Post Negative Things About Your Spouse (3) Choose Your Friends Wisely (4) Play it Smart With Who You Talk With (5) If in Doubt, De-friend Them." Great boundaries!"

In another article titled, "Our Top Dozen Do's and Don'ts for Facebooking Couples" which Jason and Kelli posted on their Marriage Junkie.com web site, they give the following list (with added details in their article): What Every Facebooking Couple Should DO to Protect Their Marriage! - Create boundaries to protect yourself, your spouse and your marriage.. - Set your relationship status to Married and keep it that way. - Update each other on your FB Friends and Friend Requests. - Share your username and password with another. - Make your spouse the topic of your Status Updates at least once a week. - Be prepared to talk offline about online issues."

And then there is "What Every Facebooking Couple Should NOT DO to Protect Their Marriage! - (DON'T) Write cutting remarks or negative statements about your spouse. - (DON'T) Friend exes, old flames, past flings, former crushes or anyone you've been intimate with in the past. - (DON'T) Lose track of how much time you spend on Facebook. (DON'T) Report that you or your spouse is out of town. - (DON'T) Have private chat sessions with people of the opposite sex. - (DON'T) Let Facebook be a distraction during your time with your mate."

As you look at the lists above most all of these principles can be applied to other Internet and Cell Phone activities. It's the secrecy matter and the poor choices that the spouses are making in HOW they use their time and WITH WHOM, which threatens peace and sanctity in marriages today.

"Thanks to cell phones, we can always reach out and touch someone. But, is that touch a caress or a slap? When we need them, cell phones can literally be a lifesaver. At other times, they create an unwelcome interruption" (Lynn Jordan). Isn't that true? Cell phones can be a helpful or a disruptive communication tool. You can use them to connect or disconnect with each other. Feelings such as "you aren't paying attention to me" or "you prefer spending more time on your phone instead of with me" can arise. And then there's the whole "private" thing where calls can be made and/or taken in secrecy. Some spouses keep cell phones to themselves, warning that they're "off limits" to their mate (or purchase them without letting their wife/husband know).

Again, we refer to something Jason wrote: "Keep in mind the words from Hebrews 13, 'Honor marriage, and guard the sacredness of s-xual intimacy between wife and husband. God draws a firm line against casual and illicit s-x" (The Message).

"While Facebook is becoming one of the most popular gathering places on the Internet, it doesn't have to be a threat to your marriage [and neither do cell phones]. Marriages are vulnerable to all kinds of online and real-life threats because the couples have failed to set up proper boundaries of protection and accountability.

"And while nothing is completely foolproof, these principles are practical tips to help you protect your most important and cherished relationship. Ultimately, it is up to you to make good decisions and wise choices and to have open lines of communication with your mate... whether you're online or not."

If you're considering marriage, PLEASE discuss this issue NOW to make sure you're both in agreement as far as the boundaries you will put into place to protect your marriage. Marriage is to be lifetime commitment lived together with God, so make sure you're uniting yourself with an honorable partner who will openly work together with you in this mission. And if you're already married, PLEASE try to work with your spouse to protect your relationship now while you can, if you can. Bring things out in the open and keep them there. Trouble grows in darkness and secrecy. If your spouse WON'T work with you to protect your marriage and stop secrecy, pray, pray, pray and keep asking God for wisdom. You do and will need it!

May God help you in this important mission.

Karrine Steffans Turns Housewife; New Book Due Out July 13

Hello Beautiful has reported that during a Blackvoices interview, Karrine Steffans revealed that she and Darius McCrary have married! I passed this news on to professional aquaintances and their responses were: "What?! So you really can turn a h-- into a housewife, huh?"
Tsk Tsk Tsk
Anyhoo, be on the look-out for her new book titled: “The Vixen Manuals: How to Find, Seduce, & Keep the Man You Want."
As only she could, Steffans breaks news on her current relationship status, shares a recent run-in with Essence magazine and opens up about her newfound faith and joining a church.

Read her interview with BlackVoices:
You mentioned before we got going that you had to change your telephone number because of Essence magazine. Explain to me what happened.
KS:
A galley for 'The Vixen Manual' had gone out to the press and Essence magazine, of course, was one of the first people to get it. The woman that I spoke to whose name I can't recall was impressed with the galley, and we spoke about the book. She asked me questions pertaining to it. That part of the interview went well, and I was very happy about that. When I mentioned something about my current relationship and my current status, it kind of sparked her interest and she began to ask me more questions about my relationship. Unbeknownst to me, she had gotten the phone number that I called from, which was my home number. After my interview was over, she called back like two hours later, which is strange. Usually, people respect your privacy and your space and don't call you. They'll call your publicist. She asked some follow-up questions. I was taken aback by the phone call, but I took it and answered her questions, which were all about my relationship which made me a little uncomfortable. I proceeded to give her answers publicly that made absolutely no sense. I feel that my relationship in-depth is nobody's business at this point. She was asking me very personal and in-depth questions about my relationship. I proceeded to give her backward answers and things that made no sense so that she wouldn't have a story and couldn't piece it together. Because I had done that, the next day she gave my home number to some other woman at Essence who called me to fact-check because what I said made no sense. She didn't call to talk to me; she called to talk to my husband. He was unavailable, and I was upset, but they had called my house again without calling my publicist first. I hung up and called my publicist to tell her what was going on. I told my husband what was going on and he was perturbed by the whole situation. My publicist took care of it I suppose, and I changed my phone number immediately because I realized my phone number was floating around Essence. For me, it was a feeling of journalism gone wrong and it's gone from journalistic to tabloidish. That's not the Essence that I had grown accustomed to. I was frankly quite appalled by the behavior of the representative of the magazine.

Okay, you've mentioned "husband" a few times. I had already heard that you and Darius McCrary had quietly reconciled, but is there something else you need to tell?
KS: The statement is that Darius and I have always been married. When and where is confidential. Our license is confidential. In the state of California, if you live together as husband and wife, then you can file a confidential license. Darius and I have always been married, whether it's spiritually or legally. We're married on both levels. Legally on paper, signed, sealed, delivered.
But this isn't a
Brandy Norwood kind of marriage? You're saying you legally went and got married and have a wedding license to prove it. Wow! When did this marriage take place? Was there a ceremony or did you visit the justice of the peace?
Darius and I are not going to explain when and where we got married, if it was before the breakup or after. I've known Darius for 20 years. We've been living together for two years and we are married. We're a couple. That was important for us on many levels. With the help of our pastor and the help of our church, it was the right thing to do for the situation that we're in so whenever we did it, we did it.

Well congratulations! Now that is the perfect transition into the church topic. I have some friends who attend Living Waters of San Fernando Valley and I was told you had been there.
KS:
Darius and I go to a church in the valley in California called Living Waters, and we have a fabulous, awesome pastor by the name of Barry Lyons. We were going to a Presbyterian church before in Bel-Air. We would go as a formality, but we weren't satisfied. We didn't leave feeling fed. Darius actually brought me to Pastor Barry and the church. He came home and said, 'I found the pastor and I found the church. You've got to meet him.' He had already met Pastor Barry and gone to the church ahead of me and knew that was it. We went in, got saved together as a family, us and the kids. We just started our whole life differently with a very strong pastor and a very supportive church behind us. It's good and it's the right thing to do.
This is the church that
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are involved in and that Jada teaches a class at. Have you attended her women's class there?
I haven't seen Will or Jada at the church, but they are friends of the pastor and friends of the church.

The last time I interviewed you it was at your house and you recorded it for your Web video series. There were rumors then that you were pregnant and everyone believed that it was by Bow Wow. You haven't had a baby, so were you pregnant?
KS: That started on the Internet and as far as the Internet is concerned, if I haven't said it directly than it's not a fact. I never said I was pregnant. I just never answered any of those questions because to me they're stupid questions. If I spend my whole day answering rumors, I wouldn't have any time to make any money. I just spend my time making money and not answering questions. I have not been pregnant; I have not had any kids. I haven't had a baby in 11 years. Darius and I have two kids [as a family], but I haven't had any kids in 11 years.

What about the Bow Wow rumors. Were you two dating when you and Darius broke up or not?
KS: I don't know where the Bow Wow stuff came from. It came from an independent blog out of Atlanta that had gotten some information from a source that and I had all of these going-ons or whatever. I don't know him so it was impossible. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well you're calling him by his first name so there seems to be some familiarity there. I'll let it go though. What about the relationship with Lil' Wayne? Speak on that.
KS:
I haven't spoken to Wayne in a while. I think everyone knows that Wayne and I were seeing each other at some point and were pretty intimate with each other until about 2007. We remained friends well into 2008, but people grow and they grow apart. You do your thing, you get engaged, you get married and you just do things. I don't think either of us has any interest in speaking to the other one because we're in different stages. There would be no place for him in my life right now.

Who was "Baby Boy" in the 'The Vixen Diaries' book? There's speculation that he was Chris Brown. Some blogs even intimated it could have been Romeo. Clear the air now and tell us who he is.
KS: I
am not going to reveal who Baby Boy was. I think that I've had enough of telling secrets and expositions. I am not, and it's for his welfare as well as mine at this point.

So the new book isn't a tell-all. You've ended that aspect of your writing career. What is 'The Vixen Manual' all about?
KS:
'The Vixen Manual' is completely different because the first two books were a set of memoirs, and what I wanted to do was get all of me out and done so there would be nothing new that anyone could come up with. I wanted to move forward from the life I had. I released those and let the skeletons out of the closet so that I could be lighter and freer in my walk. I went back to a book that I actually started in 2004 before I ever wrote 'Confessions' or 'Diaries.' As I was writing it in 2004 and early 2005, that's when Harper Collins came to me and asked me to write 'Confessions of a Video Vixen.' I stopped writing this book to write 'Confessions.' I kept adding to it over the years, and I would find myself going back and rereading and fixing things because I kept learning things about relationships and whatnot. I would talk to my girlfriends and older women in their 50s and 60s and older married couples. I would just talk to as many people as possible about relationships and how differently we view them. I learned a lot, mostly from my elders. I learned that there is a need to bring the old school and the new school together. The old-school by itself may not work in today's time, but what we're doing now, in my generation at least, also isn't working. I figured that if we brought the two together, we would have a new revolution and a new revelation about sex and sexuality, relationships and even single women would have a different outlook on life. In the last four years, I compiled all of these conversations into 50 chapters and that's what the manual became.

Okay. Well, name some women that you'd like to have a 'Vixen Manual' boot camp with. Who could benefit from this book?
KS:
I might want to go after women who have had the same troubles as I've had; women who have been cheated on, women who have cheated. I would love to sit down with Kathie Lee Gifford and talk about her marriage. I think girl talk with her might be fun. I would love to talk to Star Jones about marriage and dating especially after a certain age. I would want to get her insight too about some things that I have learned about other women. I think she would be interesting to talk to. I would like to Jada Pinkett Smith. None of these women are for me to tell them what to do. These are women who I look at their relationships and I want to know more about them and how they feel about them. I want to share experiences so that we can all talk about what we've learned together. I think Jada has an interesting relationship. We assume from the outside that it's very strong, and I would like to talk about that with her. I'd like to talk to Jennifer Hudson about love and being famous and finding love and being leery about why people are with you and around you and how you can scope out that kind of thing. I'm interested in that, especially at this time and this state of her life. She's in a pivotal moment where God has given her an enormous tragedy to utilize His will. I'm interested to find out how her relationship and her engagement are, if it's still on and how that comes into play with what I think God has for her. My final would be Kim Kardashian. I think she would be an interesting person to talk to about relationships. I wonder what her ideas are about dating and being so young and a porn queen and dating someone that everybody on the planet wants to be with at least once.

You and Kim could always share your Ray J stories too, right?
KS:
[Laughs] I guess we could talk about Ray J, but actually I'm over all of that. I'm too old to be talking about anybody that doesn't live in my house. I hit 30 and I just woke up and got it. I have a husband and two kids, a house and a career. I had a dog, but she ran away. Other than that, everything is regular and normal. I'm too old for anything. It's like they say, 'I'm really too old for this s--t.'

As The Rumour Mill Churns: Jada & Will??

Sadly, the rumour mill is churning again and this time, it's about one of my favorite couples; Jada and Will Smith. Hello Beautiful has posted to her blog stating that the word is out: they're calling it quits.
I don't believe it, but........................you never know. This, if it were true, would be the saddest news. They seem to be a great couple and I mean GREAT!
